Apple only has one model out at one time, samsung has more than 10 with superb features and yet the one inferior iphone 4 has so much more sales volume, resale value and demand... Any yet iphone 4 is so much more expensive...and somewhat people rate apple ios as a inferior product... Funny how some people sum up their thougts...

Hardware-wise, whatever Apple is doing for its iPhones and iPads, Samsung produces something better (except for the pixel-dense retina display). 9.3mm iPhone4 becomes 8.6 mm SGS II. 601 grams iPad 2 becomes 565 grams Galaxy Tab 10.1. If the rumored iPhone5 ever hits the streets, it won't be long before Samsung came up with something better. Unless , of course, if the iPhone5 is the mini version, Samsung already got plenty of that.
Those patent suits are just technical blabber. Bottomline is, Apple hate Samsung's manufacturing prowess. Apple don't like what the competition is doing.
Slim phone with gorgeous screen? There's a Samsung phone for that.
Just my opinion. (O, walang ko-kontra.)

OK, when SGS was first released and everybody was shouting that Samsung's TouchWiz and exteriror design looked like Apple's 3GS I didn't mind, because I could clearly see some similarities between these two phones. Look at the Phone icon and the dots that show on what page you are currently on. But Samsung is using Android OS and Apple iOS and these two are nothing alike!
But now comes the dark side of Apple (iOS 5):
1st they copy the whole app (even the icon!) from some student that made WiFi Sync app.
2nd they copied the notification bar from Android and again from some developer that made a similar app.
Now iOS tries to look like TouchWiz and Apple is suing Samsung?! Shouldn't it be the other way around? Well... NO, no one should sue anybody! These lawsuits are ridiculous!
Bad Apple!

good publicity for apple.. if you ask me it's a waste of time. people buy apple because they are iclones. people who buy samsung want serious hardware and are more knowledgeable about phone. in all fairness apple's design is better and more solid. it's just what is inside the phone is old and dated.

regie co, 25 Jun 2011just because the shape is the same it doesn't mean that the... moreTo those who keep saying Apple is suing cos of rectangle shape etc etc. Please read the details of the lawsuit. A good article was written by Nilay Patel. Google it.
The article says that there is a strong basis for Apple's lawsuit against Samsung, and they are suing over more than 10 patent/design points.
Apple may or may not win, but if you want to bash, at least bash with some knowledge instead of the ignorant rants around here.

As far as phone shapes go, there isn't many variations you can have without it appearing to be copying someones idea. Apple don't like the idea that Samsung might be trying to mimic the shape of the iPhone in the Galaxy but wasn't Samsung's Tocco a very similar shape?? And that was out way before the iPhone had even been thought of

Anonymous, 25 Jun 2011What you say might be true if RIM did not get sued by Palm ... morewhat you say about palm suing blackberry in 2003 just emphasizes my point that companies copy each other all the time.
Blackberry have been around since the late 90s & have been very big in business (particularly in the US) since around 2004. 2007 was when they started to try to have mass consumer appeal & try to move away from a totally business orientated focus.
The fact that Nokia released their E series as a business phone & used this form factor was due to the success of Blackberry in the business world (which was huge). And the fact that their communicator series (which were extremely powerful phones) just weren't selling in great numbers (probably due to the high costs of the phone - especially since in the business world you're not trying to sell to individual people - you're selling a product to a whole company to roll out to its workforce as a solution). This is probably why Blackberry are still the most successful business phone as they're relatively cheap per unit, very easy for an IT department to implement into their network, & very easy to use. I work for a big global telecomms company & we have a choice of 2 phones - a Nokia 6600 if you don't require email or a Blackberry if you require email on the move. I got my first Blackberry from my company in 2001 & they were everywhere I went to in meetings then.

samsung lacks of imagination. not only regarding Iphone. some of their "new apps" in SG2 are adapted from apps on android market and others are copy of other manufacturers apps. to court with them.

ALonZo, 25 Jun 2011Apple have every right to take action against Samsung. Comp... moreAnd still, every companies are copying each others in TV's, cars, boats, chairs, house designs, laptops and so on.
OH NOES, every soundspeaker companies are copying each others since when one company makes a loudspeaker, they are making it round. Now lets go and sue everyone and eachone because the other loadspeaker companies are making a loadspeaker that is round to.
And this is not a problem for you?, and this is all fine for you that everyone is making a loadspeaker round like everyone is doing?
No, the fact is that because Samsung did a very smart move on how they made the phones, even when it can looks "somewhat similar" to iPhone, then Apple have no rights to tell Samsung to not make the phones like they do now, because Samsung's phones are far from being any iPhone copies.
The next thing will probably be that Apple is suing Samsung because they are using 4 corners on the screen like it is on the iPhones.
Anyone who agrees with Apple on this is just doing it because you're an Apple fanboi. And because you don't see out of the box on what this suing from Apple is actually doing to the mobile market.
