Apple wouldn't pay if they didn't lose the case.

Apple have every right to take action against Samsung. Companies are quick to turn on Apple if the shoe was facing the other way. Let's look at this in perspective - Samsung are BLATANTLY copying Apple. What Samsung are trying to achieve is cheaper iPhone replicas for the Android Market. Samsung lack innovation and originality. Look at HTC - at least their handsets have some originality. Samsung realise the only way they can make high end products to sell well is design handsets the Apple way. Anyone seen the Galaxy Ace? You'd think that was sn iPhone 3GS!

As Apple worries about samsaung will Lead the market and also Apple Has 11 Main Disadvantage:
Main disadvantages

3.Poor still cameras – though, really, this thing isn’t meant for taking candids

6.Non replaceable battery
7.No stereo loudspeakers
8.No GPS receiver for the Wi-Fi only version

Anonymous, 25 Jun 2011Nope - the Nokia E series candy bar qwerty keyboard form fa... moreWhat you say might be true if RIM did not get sued by Palm back in 2003 for copying thier hugely globally popular Treo formfactor. Blackberrys did not even come into the spotlight untill 2007 with the releaese of Curve 8300. Before that Blackberry where selling even less phones than Sharp and Alcatel, so i wouldn't call it successfull. Nokia already had E61 out in 2005, and it looks much more like the Curve line-up that Blackberry started in 2007 than the earlier models that RIM stole from Palm Treo line-up. Nokia E-series in 2005 gave birth to and inspired Blackerry Curve formfactor.

Im not with apple here
But listening to you guys talking about stealing and copying, yeah it's normal or not
IT's normal to borrow some concepts, but not copy more than 60 percent of the physical design and software UI.. Apple is not better, they're doing it for decades.
As Steve Jobs said once
" Good Artists Copy, Great Artists Steal "

Anonymous, 25 Jun 2011stealers and thieves.... ts ts ts. only nokia has been hone... moreNope - the Nokia E series candy bar qwerty keyboard form factor came as a response to the huge success of the Blackberry form factor in the business world.
By the same token - Blackberry's storm & torch series came after the huge success of the touchscreen form factor.
All mobile phone companies will copy another design if it sells well. They'll all put their own slant on it but it's still a copy of a design because that's what's currently in vogue with the consumer.
I don't blame them - If everyone is buying a flip phone - you'd be silly to ignore the market & not make one. Same when the slide phone was in fashion - every manufacturer had a stable full of em. & so on & so on.
All this latest lawsuit cycle will be swept under the carpet eventually & then HTC will probably sue LG for something & it'll start again for a bit.

AnonD-1470, 25 Jun 2011remember the LG Prada, released before the original iphone.... moreThey already did. In the end of 2007 Apple paid LG money for copying LG prada and capacitive cellphone technology. It's not the first Apple got sued and had to pay. The latest is Nokia who won lawsuit after 4 years in court. Apple paid Nokia for iOS being a ripp-off from Symbian Series 90 widget based multilayer touchscreen OS.

I think that before all the rabid apple haters spout off on these forums they should actually read & understand the article.
The fact is that Samsung are suing Apple for patent infringements.
In return Apple are suing Samsung for different patent infringements.
Another fact is - none of you own Samsung or Apple so why get so wound up about 2 giant companies, that are only interested in taking your money, fighting each other.
I'm sure that neither CEO could give a flying hoot about your petty opinions - just as long as they keep taking your money.

Someone, 25 Jun 2011Before you actually start commenting have you actually seen... moreThey look "somewhat similar" yeah, but why do you support Apple in this?
Think for a second on what this suing crap from Apple is actually doing for the development for mobile phones today.
Oh noes, there are ALOT of cars around that looks similar to, NOW EVERYONE, SUE EACH OTHERS TO HELL AND BACK.
Do you see where this will end up?
You are an Apple fanboi if you don't see where this is going.

Before you actually start commenting have you actually seen the Samsung Galaxy and iPhone side by side?? Even in the box??
It's so clear that Samsung has copied the style of the phone, the menu system AND EVEN THE BOX from Apple.
Samsung were NOT packaging their phones like they were until now.
Honestly guys, go to your local phone store and have a look at the two together, even ask to see the box. You will see that Apple has a very, very valid point.
