Some Apple iPhone X OLED screens plagued by green lines

12 November 2017
Given that the issue takes some time to develop, it’s hard to estimate how wide-spread it is.

At the time that was released, Nokia 808 was the phone with the highest contrast and sunlight visibility. And was king in that with years!
My point - AMOLED is not from yesterday and it is way better than LCD.

Too much money invested on the phone by the customer. Hope Apple finds a solution fast and makes a statement enough to justify the loot with problematic products.

They have no excuse to have problems when they ask 4 number price tag. Issues like this would be understandable for low end phones that go out in millions and same with mid range phones. But if I would sped 1000 for a phone I expect it to be quality work to justify it's price tag. But as it seems you wont get quality even with 1000 bucks.

Whenever a DOA is "repaired" or you got a screen exchange for whatever reason you get the dreaded purple-tint screens. I have one. As it seems that the "faulty" batches of amoled screens were transfered to the after-sales channel. My 808 screen was perfect until I broke it (with a fall) and had it replaced. Now I too have the dreaded purple tint screen. I'm sure this also happened with DOA devices. If the faulty component was a dead screen they got replaced with the bad batch and went back into the retail-channel leading to all the commotion about this issue. Nokia never took a beating for it and this issue was never really explained and rectified. I'm sure that IF you have a faulty screen on your 808 today and you it replace it, you'll end up with a worse screen (with purple tint).

The purple tint that I'm referring to has NOTHING to do with taking pictures in sunlight. It is visible when you lower the brightness of your screen (or activate powersave mode which also decreases screen brightness), grey becomes a shade of purple instead of grey. Increase brightness to its fullest and grey gradients get their real colour again.

And it's proven that android only uses like 5% all together. Yes iOS van shrink some apps better in memory but there is only so much you can do. Which is why for many years iOS had a world lead in app crashes by a dramatic margin.

Strange how my Nokia 808 with such "terrible" AMOLED screen still works as my daily driver even. Without any screen issues. More research? There are a lot of them - made by Nokia, Samsung, Motorola etc. Why no one had issues with old Nokia phones like 1020, 930, or Samsung phones?
And AMOLED is much much better to look than any LCD screen. If you do not see the difference - go to eye doctor. Obviously you need one exam.

The Z5's had the funny touch-issues (screen not recognizing touches) and older Z-series (Z3c for example) phones had the screens peeling off, also after having it repaired for the issue. Just accept that Sony is as flawed as any other manufacturer and your life gets better after you're not living in such denial anymore. :-)

Did you actually watch it? :) Both the iPhone 8 and X was faster in the first round. The Note won because it has better RAM-management (finally, Samsung have had its own issue with that for sure) which for some reason is not as good in iOS 11 as it was in iOS 10 so the iPhones has to reload apps.

It is reasonable, what is OLED or AMOLED is a more sophisticated thick screen, Indeed it resolve problem of manufacture origin because also can't resolve it, such as Samsung galaxy note 7 previous then it than better with Samsung galaxy note 8 now and happened on Google pixel 2 xl, So also happened on iPhone x, OLED and AMOLED screens indeed terrible, although it more sophisticated than IPS lcd and TFT, but Indeed need more research of company itself if will buy it.
