I dont understand people here. It is a rumour at the moment. Maybe they upgrade after some months. Technology is moving fast and it is good that samsung is bringing it out faster. Those who get 1.2 GHz just enjoy their device. Dont complain as it is not a confirmed news yet.

People can overclock their current SGSII from 1.0, 1.2 GHz to 1.5 GHz safely. There is an app for that. :/

If it is new hardware instead of a software update, hope they increase the screen resolution to qHD. I know it dosent make much of a difference to the phone, but dammit I want some qHD S-AMOLED+!

If its a software upgrade then its all good (battery performance may suffer but who knows if they optimise the update), but a hardware upgrade would leave current SGS2 owners feeling a little ripped off. At the same time Samsung need to compete with the new iPhone so they could just bite the bullet and risk upsetting current owners. To be honest it would surprise me if there is any truth in this rumour as Samsung could just release new SGS3 altogether to match or better the new iPhone. I guess we will see.

Ho ho if samsung even confirming this phone or release another flagship phone within this year, I'm selling my gs2 and wait for the iphone 5. Don't get me wrong I'm not am iphone fanboy. But I'd like my top of the line phone to last longer. I've always hated apple for their close policy but I like the idea that if I buy a phone, an expensive one, its going to be the best a company can offer for a whole year. I've got the gs2 for about a month and theres rumour about another flagship? if so I'm moving on.

from my experience with Samsung, they are going for sour to launch within a completely new device, such action is apple like not Samsung, by the way i going to buy the Galaxy S2, but i am not counting on such action from Samsung.

Feel bad for all the people that bot the earlier version. dual core 1.4ghz and NFC. Not bad samsung but still gonna wait for the dual core form Sony ericsson before making a choice. Right now my nexus 1 still doing the job and android 2.3 don't need dual core meaby when ice cream gonna be there.

AnonD-3575, 27 Jun 2011it would be better to optimize androidTrue, but who cares about software when you have 10Ghz dual core processor. Of course Android will run the same, because nobody at Samsung cares about the "real" user experience as long as they can offer something "better" than iwhatever.
