That's a pretty sad move by Samsung. All of those people have spent £500 and now have an outdated phone for the sake of a 1.4ghz processor to compete with an iPhone not officially annouced yet!

Knowing how annoyingly my sgs2 heats up when playing games or watching high-res streaming videos, I would very much like to know what will samsung do about this. Or the 1.4Ghz model owners will be putting on the table their phones to prevent from nasty burns? :D

Samsung is sure gonna loose some supporters if the current SGSII users cannot choose to bump up the clock speed of their phone.

Not really looking forward to it - I'm sure bumping up the processor speed will have its equivalent toll on battery life. What Samsung should be updating us about is the 32gb variant.

Excellent news. I'm due for an upgrade in October and am impatiently awaiting a SGS II. Hopefully, this upgraded SoC also means an upgraded battery. I'm prepared to sacrifice some thickness (or thinness) for a higher capacity battery. My phone doesn't need to go through small spaces under doors all that often, lol.
