It makes sense to have loads of viruses on a Android when there are billions of users that use Android. IOS don't have that much viruses cause there are less users and well now dead windows phone had none cause the market share for that OS was just to little to make viruses on them. The bigger market the more viruses there are.

Ouch, project treble should help phones get updates faster for longer, but that only applies to phones that get oreo.

They should have an IQ test before unlocking “unknown sources”, if you got a virus on android 99.99% of the time it’s due to your own stupidity, apps tell you the permissions they require... you can vet them against the play store both through the permissions and the size of the app... then for even further protection you can actually edit them too see their contents with an apk editor which you can get off the play store to read their contents. Android really is the ultimate security device choice for those in the know.

The only safe third party app store is F-Droid (everything is open source and inspected before publishing for malware, ads, analytics etc). Forget the rest. You don't need a pirate copy of that game so badly.
