You and everyone else like you who are resistant to change are the ones who are stupidly stubborn enough to be "hopefully" left behind. At least that'll give us breathing space from your primitive ways.

I now have the S8 Plus and it just feels like a huge TV when I bring it out of my pocket. It is quite a nuisance when I use it outdoors. However, the large dimensions is nice to have indoors, as a larger screen is always appreciated.

Saw the photo and thought 'YES! A phone that can take the crown from my Nexus 5 as being my best phone ever!" Then I saw how big the screen was and immediately thought 'Oh hell no!!"

If they did a oneplus 5t mini at 5.1" (but not like the over-saturated rubbish displays they like to use), decent specs, I would be all over it... hint hint, oneplus, hint hint!

Looks like an interesting proposition to me.

But instead of spending 500 EUR on an OP5, for 50 more you can get the Galaxy S8.

20$ might seem like nothing in US, but in other countries the difference will be bigger and for some people every penny actually matters !
They just had no reason to increase the price at all ! The specs are exactly the same except for that stupid aspect ratio that will consume more battery .
They should have lowered the price IMO . this is now a year old specs they are selling essentially .

Check out mate 10, the last great 16:9 phone .The downside it has is the screen quality isn't as good and is more power hungry .
Literally no 16:9 device has a good amoled screen (this year) . Incredible !

[deleted post]Seems nice means nothing. Is about what it offers against others equally nice at the same price. And this one lose. Probably because it arrive too late while others with better features and hardware has dropped it's prices several times. Which is a fault by OnePlus not study about it and price it properly in the actual market. Anyhow, some fans of the brand still could buy it. But each time less ones if they continue in this way.

The design is neat, but it's not only the lack of improvement or the lackluster dual cam setup that kills it for me. It's also the company's stance in regards to implementing new technologies - like wireless charging.

Not much of an upgrade from OP 5 besides design and some other stuff. It's only an incremental update, as has been the case with OP T series. OnePlus, is successfully? the first Android manufacturer after Apple to market face unlock as an unlocking method and it claims to unlock in 0.4 seconds, which is a ridiculous claim. You need to pickup the phone, position it in a certain angle and show your face before it unlocks. The whole process takes more than 0.4 secs. Face Recognition unlocking is way more inconvenient compared to fingerprint unlocking and besides, I doubt if OnePlus's implementation of facial recognition is any good especially if it's only using the selfie camera to achieve the task. I won't compare it to Apple's implemention in the iPhone X which is using the TrueDepth sensors in that ugly notch along with the front snapper to do the job. Most users are gonna disable it anyway. Thankfully, there's a fingerprint sensor but this time, it's on the back. Front mounted fingerprints sensors are better in usability, as you won't need to lift the phone. Considering, there's still some usable chin on the bottom, OP could've place it on the front. Alas! The 18:9 ratio bezeless race is just getting more crazy with each passing day.. Except for running two apps side by side, and that too depending on the software's calibration, it has no real benefits. No 18:9 contents yet and many applications need to be updated to support the 18:9 ratio without needing to be upscaled. Bezeless is fine, a phone can have minimal bezels and yet retain the 16:9 standard screen ratio. Anyways, more and more manufacturers seems to be making the jump, so there seems to be very few choices left in the future. Unfortunately, users have to adapt like what happened with the removal of useful features like removable batteries and dedicated SD card slots. Although, I'm not a Sony fan, gotta praise Sony for not jumping in the stupid 18:9 screen ratio race.

People asking about how this is better than OP5 should realize that this is not an upgrade, this is a replacement.
This is essentially a OP5 just with a more modern looks and slightly better low light camera.
That is why it is priced exactly the same.

Same battery capacity (3300mAh), Fingerprint sensor in the back, slightly taller than Oneplus 5. Sorry, I wont buy this. My plan to buy OP5 has been changed.

                                      Yet another hypertall, gigantic phone.

They have increased the lauch price of the OP 5T in 20$ above the OP 5. No much, but a rise in the price again.

The worst is that there isn't anything remarkable. The face recognition it's a common feature now. And instead of add OIS and no more to fix their camera, they fool potential customers with their camera new setup. Two cameras with the same focal lenght is a waste of resource, the improvement in low light is minimal and in portrait mode only a matter of resolution. A good main camera with OIS is better for all that features they mentioned plus adding a second one different, like with optical zoom as they had in OP 5 or one with wide angle, monochrome... would have provided the customer with more options and more fun with the cameras.

No original design, they are tied with Oppo in design and Cameras... Still without protection against water. You can have protection and still be easily repairable.
