Should we also go back to hardware keyboards? How about the small black and white screens?

Technological advancements happen in increments. The companies that refuse to follow are left behind, simple as that. Active biometrics had their time, it's time to give precedence to a much more advanced tech. If you like the least advanced revision, tough luck, the world won't stay back just because you're backwards...

Go watch some videos on youtube (there are about a million). OP5 is faster than the iPhone X (outside of 4k video uploading, all apps run faster on OP5), Note 8, S8. Unless you think it's just one massive youtube conspiracy.

Also it's absurd that a phone released in 2014 2015 is going to have a longer support span than a f*cking enthusiasts phone, that kind of tells you how little tinkerers make up the market share.

The life of most phones now is just 2 to a max of 3 years. Its nearly the same for Samsung. They killed the S3 and no updates for note 4.

AnonD-553488, 21 Nov 2017Below are the prices of flagship mobiles from Samsung and A... moreApple can price their phones to whatever they like. iOS can only be found in iPhones. And you get 4 years of software support, not to mention Apple's excellent customer service and their attention to details.

In the other hand, OnePlus is using Android. An open platform that has a lot of competition. Yes, The competition has higher prices, but they also provide better cameras, software support, IP ratings, and better customer service. OnePlus doesn't provide any of these. Not to mention that the 5T doesn't come with Oreo. Which is a downside for a phone that comes in late 2017.

You can argue that OnePlus is almost as good as the competition for a lower price (which is true), but I know a lot of people who'll happily pay 100$ more to get a Galaxy S8. You can say that it only have 64GB, but it also has an SD card slot.

In the end, OnePlus will never have great smartphones, they'll have only good ones. With their current release strategy, they'll lose customer's trust. Not to mention their privacy problems, the 1 year of software support, and the average camera performance and bad customer service. This year wasn't great for OnePlus, let's hope they'll do a better job next year.
