OnePlus 5 confirmed to be discontinued once stock runs out

20 November 2017
OnePlus has an interesting strategy with its “T” model. The company’s Indian head confirms the OnePlus 5 will be discontinued.

Sort by:

First of all they should clearly answer why they released a T model again, when they explicitly stated that "3T was a one time thing" and "there won't be another T model".
Being an ex OP2 user, I believed in them when they stated multiple times that "OP2 will get Nougat", and now some people must have believed them and bought a OP5 believing their won't be a 5T.
I don't know why people consider them a "user focussed company" when they clearly lie to their users

Simply because One Plus 5T can't make sales with One Plus 5 around. There isn't much noticeable spec difference except for the RAM. Unethical price rise.

Same strategy? hahaha...not even closed...at least Samsung and LG still manufacturer those phone even after they release new version of it...none of them discontinued their phone after 5 month...most of them have minimum 2 years of productions...

Below are the prices of flagship mobiles from Samsung and Apple and OnePlus. Look at them and tell me how is this phone overrated.

        5T - 575$ - 128GB
        7 Plus - 875$ - 32GB
        8 Plus - 1060$ - 64GB
        S8 - 800$ - 64GB
        S8+ - 950$ - 64GB
        Note 8 - 1020$ - 64GB

The price difference between OnePlus 5T and iPhone 8 plus is nearly double and I get half the storage in iPhone. Please explain me how is this phone expensive and why I should not buy it. I know I wont be getting the same Camera output but at half the price I am pretty happy with the output of my Oneplus.

Gotta love how the most overrated phone in the Android space is still getting undeserved recognition, much like the iPhone X (which lacks a fingeprint scanner, to which everyone else would be lambasted for). I'd say "vote with your wallet" but that doesn't keep the blissfully unaware hopefuls from wasting their money.

Oneplus - when you don't ever consider buying the previous generation as a wiser alternative to going all in on a current generation flagship phone.

They could have continued the 3T as their option in INR 20-25K range as it is still capable phone.

A bad move for them. It may be easier to manage only one model, but a lot of fans are going to be disappointed.
