Anonymous, 26 Nov 2017You have miss the point with Android: customization. You ca... moreYou cannot make Android look consistent like:
- having all app icons following the same design language. Icon packs never include all icons of all possible apps in the store. So you either end up with multiple icon styles on the homescreen OR you move certain icons to other screens or put them in folders so they don't mess up the overall look of the homescreen.
- having the same design language across all areas of the OS. You cannot make all submenus, settings screens, pop ups, error messages, notification messages, data entry screens, list selection screens to look the same. Some use Android 4.0 designs, others use more recent versions, while some other pop ups and fonts are taken from Android 3.x era.
- using widgets is a mess as they all look different, have different shapes (some have square corners, some have rounded corners, some have slightly less rounded corners, some have very rounded corners), some are fully transparent, some are fully opaque, while the rest all have different transparency values. Some use bigger text, some use smaller text. Some use certain fonts while others use other fonts. Some use certain font colours, some other use completely different font colours and alignments.
Android looks fine on the surface, but not on the inside and under the hood.

No one is going to pay £190 for that. Wileyfox are always overpricing their very average phones. No doubt they'll soon be out of business

So sad since MS said they won't support Windows phones anymore. I've used an Android 7 phone this year and I am still amazed of people saying Android is great. It's far from that and looks like it was made by 100 different designers with different ideas and design languages.
Now I have an iPhone 7, and while iOS is better organised, more stable, and prettier than Android, I still miss the live tiles and ease of use that I had on my Lumia 950XL. If there were enough apps in the Windows store, I would ditch the iPhone in an instant.
And I'm not touching Android again until Google puts more work into it and turns it into a real OS. Having a phone that sometimes lags or fails at doing certain tasks, or has an unimpressive UI/UX is a no go for me. Not even custom launchers can give Android a solid interface.

Willeyfox's attitude reminds me of Nokia's attitude when launching the Lumia 505, running Windows Phone 7.8.

I don't know why, i have using any major OS Mobile iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile, and right now i'm using Android, but what the most i missed on all that OS is Windows Mobile i don't why despite its lack of popular apps and games, but i really missed it i wonder if can't install that OS on my android phone right now. Missed the livetile, usefull feature less gimmick and fluid fast and easy to use simple but lack of app, i love that OS, i abandoned it because the hardware and price is insane

Windows phone 10 should not be dead. It is the best phone OS. It would be great if there is new life in the mobile world. Where is the Surface Phone....I would sell all my other phones and but that.

I had a windows phone(L800) before and really liked its UI, but the lack of apps was the problem. It was so painful to see my friends playing games together with their android phones while I was there just watching them. huhuhu T_T

Most apps are just a web wrap anyway. Twitter works perfectly well on Edge Browser, as does Facebook. This is the way Android and Apple will eventually go once they realize it's a thousand times easier to maintain a web page than it is an app or app store with 10 million apps. As I've said many times, apps are a gimmick

Apple and Google saw what people wants, while ms said it's not necessary. Wp took a little time to get to know, but it's like that with everything new. I'm more to Android myself, and switching phones 2-3 times yearly, depending on the new phones out there.
