i knew from the let go this phone would be a failure. the phone costs roughly 250-300dollars to produce. putting the phone for a miserable 400 with a camera the gains are almost none.
I bet Andy is hesitating to produce a second Essential.
Putting a price tag as high as 700 dollars for a phone and coming down to 350US just shows how greedy they were. Andy wanted the double of income and he deserved what happened to him.
Learn one thing or two from oneplus andy...

MY hopes on 200 dollar price for Christmas still alive and kicking, that would be definitely "essential" phone :)

I would by one for $350, just worried about support. Will the company survive at least 2 years? Is the bootloader open and source code shared?

I was a fan of this handset when Andy did the pre-announce.
Nevertheless, when the channel JerryRigEverything on YouTube showcased the simple drop test, it was quite clear that this one is off my list. :)

Fanboy ;) Now lets say what its... moreAt current price sure people might get it beside LG but at original price no LG is better and if updates are fast why hasnt it receieved oreo and you only have 128gb while LG users can increase it using sd card its slower than built in but its prettt convienent and yes battery on LG sucks and LG phones are super fast too essential is fast only because of stock android which imo is boring and about breaking check out V30 drop test its pretty strong back for being glass (front is weak but screen still works) anything else?

People ask questions? Really what is that. Phone is a tool, no point in listening to questions regarding it
Besides any phone will break when it drops on screen so no point in asking about durability
PS you realize that ceramic is more delicate than glass when it comes to handling drops?
LG G6 is much better than this one except for 821, well to each their own I guess

Its also use much less power than amoled and wont burn-in or loose colors after 1 years of usages like amoled do.
Its also dont have a strange tint to the colors when you tilt the phone like amoled do..

Faster update.
Wont break easily.
Better battery life than almost all your LG phone ( beside V30 wich is much bigger as well )
Its faster than any LG phone as well in real life usages.
No branding on the phone so ppl ask questions ( i have it )
128 gb of super fast memory ( better than your 32 to 64 gb )
In life not everything turn around what you want in a phone everyone have different needs.
For the price essential is 20 times better than any similarly priced LG handset.
Most funny is i got LG G5 , G6 and the V30 ( i love LG ) but beside the camera on the V30 the essential is better in all aspect for my needs.
