The Nokia 9's curved all-glass front looks like it warrants a case

28 November 2017
Nokia's next flagship will have wireless charging and water resistance, but no 3.5mm jack.

    Still no 18:9

What's up with all the trolls in this comment section? Are fanboys of other brands so terrified of the return of Nokia?

The only thing that stands out is how well the case conceals the hump of the phone. If they announce it in January it will be available for spring-summer and I already smell the 900 $ that they will ask for that iPhone mod on the back and clone of the Galaxy on the front. A chinese clone.

This will be the worst flagship phone of 2018 ever if Nokia 9 follows the trends of removing headphone jack, glass on the back, bezelless display 18:9 and more. But I have a feeling that this is genuinely fake because it was supposed to be released next year, not this year. And this year Nokia launched 6 devices (Exclude Nokia 7, for China only). I wonder how HMD will settle the security patches update with 6 devices in one goal especially the next following year?

This is just another cheap Chinese phone with edges and no headphone jack. Nothing else to see here. HTC 11 and 11plus, Samsung galaxy 8,note 8, LG g6 are 10 times more better then this. What a shame for company that was founded in 1865. Good bye Nokia R.I.P.

Do you know the price of Mate 10? Not to mention Porsche design...
Anyway, let accept that they are cheap - the disgn of MiMix and Mate 10 is much more recognizable than Nokia 9. With such camera hump is so ugly.

So we need to wait till MWC 2018 to get our hands on this device. Kindly release the phone with new update camera UI

In that case - no. Ugly humongous camera hump, like iPhone X, fingerprint on the back - why they do not put it aside as Sony?!?
I often use my phones on the desk. With such camera hump and fingerprint on the back is inconvenient for me.
Shame Nokia. I was loyal customer years ago, but your design team make just another Android device. Nothing different. Nothing wow!
Years ago my 930 was wow in design. Before that was N8.
                    This is nothing .,.

Now I'm very disappointed with the decision to drop the 3.5mm jack.. Devastated really.. The dual camera seems the same as Nokia 8 which didn't deliver.. At this point Nokia 7 is the best device by HMD with 3.5mm jack and a great single 16MP camera with zeiss lens

Before enter the market, Nokia 9 already fail coz Xiaomi (Mi Note2), Huawei (Mate 9 Pro) already ditch edge screen & going back to flat display with Mi Note 3 & Mate 10 Pro..

The Nokia 9 should've been the best hope for 3.5mm jacks but you done screwed it up! Why HMD!? You can earn more from phones with Jack than phones without Jack and USB-C accessories.

Thank goodness I bought the 8 last month. If Nokia 9 comes with the outdated IMX258, I'm done with them until they decided to use the latest flagship sensor like IMX400.

Vegetaholic, 28 Nov 2017It is not Nokia, they have nothing to do with it is HMDThis again?

HMD are made up of Nokia Devices veterans, Nokia are on the board of directors at HMD, Nokia set the minimum device requirements for HMD, Nokia Technologies do the R&D for HMD, HMD are located on the Nokia campus in Espoo (Finland) right opposite the Nokia Corporation HQ.

Whether people say HMD or Nokia is irrelevant. People know what they mean, and they're so intermingled that it doesn't matter.

Alright, but why would you cover a phone's design with a case?
I mean... You don't wrap your Ferrari in plastic to keep it safe from tarmac bits chipping the paint or from melted rubber sticking to it. You don't wrap your couch in plastic to keep it like new.

So why would you do this to a phone? Especially considering designers spent so much time making a device look beautiful and thin and light. It's the same case as wrapping your couch in plastic. Or wrapping the TV remote in plastic.
If people want to protect their "investment", that means they can't afford that device. If you know you crack your phone 1-2 times a year without a case, then buy a phone that you can replace 1-2 times a year without makin a hole in your budget. As simple as that.

You have a budget of $400 to spend on a phone over the course of a year and you know you are clumsy? Just buy a $150-200 phone and you're all set.

It's looking like S6Edge+ with Minimal Bezels ..
