Sony's upcoming bezelless flagship has its specs leaked

This will allegedly be the Japanese company's top of the line smartphone to be unveiled at MWC in February.

Remember when everyone was hyping up the 'world's thinnest smartphone', making successive generation thinner and thinner? Until in 2013 we learned that you'd end up bending them - not to mention poor battery life? Yes. This is the exact same thing.

This is the exact same thing. (repeated for effect - has the penny dropped yet...?). Kind of shocking how we fail to reflect and learn on past mistakes. Bezelless is sadly nothing but a gimmicky trend that I hope dies with its fore-bearers; the curved TVs, the 3D TVs, the iPhone 6... come to think of it, who actually uses the Nintendo 3DS's 3D feature any more?

Eventually the world will wake up (again...) and demand ergonomics over aesthetics. And so this depressing cycle repeats.

    I think someone in Sony needs to leave the company!

          meanwhile sony insisted not to fix it for many many months, they even deleted the customer report. after customers angry, sony finally restore the report back. and after many many people troll them, they finally released the distortion fix after 7 months.
          sony treat their customers like cr@ps. LOL.

          This is one of the reason why most people avoid xperia. if something happen to it, sony won't fix it immediately. people must argue with the technical staffs first to get it fixed. Customers are always served with the lowest priority.

Why the software comes after 6 months is because the camera distortion is definitely normal, Sony had have upgraded the user experience with adding the camera distortion rectify as a feature, because they listen to customer demands. And we can know most of the Sony smartphone come with Android 8 (Oreo) and the recent update Oreo for most of it flagships, these all you can't find on your beloved Samsung smartphones.
              2- Compare to the (have the chance) burn-in Amoled screen, I will always choose the IPS screen. Btw, the 2K display is not enough for now and afterward, 4K is the future and become a basic when the 8K and 10K display coming soon.
              3- Xperia UI is great!! Even my over 3years Xperia Z2 still receive the new software update to let me know the recent and development of its latest UI. It also can change Theme designs, if you have talent you also can design a theme for yourself.

              4- I really don't know this issue, but I don't think you are the XA1's user. Perhaps you don't spread or trolling the news (in every Sony thread) as it is just a midrange.
              5- I am not American...The fingerprint unlocks disable in U.S. maybe is a period limitations or business decisions, hope this issue can be settled. Btw, are you an American?

                1. sony had camera distortion (but then finally fixed it after more then 7 months later. omg.. so slow)
                2. sony have the most ancient display, called Lcd. Most colectors would be happy to buy xperia because of this.
                3. sony also have the oldest custom ui which has never been improved since kitkat. omg.. collectors must be happy to collect this.
                4. sony implement "bad touchscreen problem" in xperia xa1.
                5. sony love usa very much, always giving special edition flagships (minus fingerprint) to all people in there.
                6. sony is the champion of the "slowest innovation". wow.. competitors are always faster. so thanks to sony who always become the slowest.

                  R&D so quickly isn't a good decision for the China. They all just copy the idea from Sharp Aquos S2 and Xperia ZL. Every smartphone company can make the bezel-less smartphone, it is not a technology, it is just a trend, but when you need quality coming to your hand you need waiting for the design.

                    Chinese have already launched oppo, one plus, Vivo bezeless cells and marketed, But most expensive Sony have now thought off launching next year with older Soc 835, and specs are not do impressive ram and romantic specs are everywhere, nothing special, only price would be nearly 1000$ tobe sure off. Farwell Sony it's your style of bussiness, never in black, always in losses.

How convenient. XZs was never a flagship. It released with SD820 in the age of SD835. XZP is the flagship. Use that first and then make definitive statements. Or let me make it easy for you. It stays very cool under severe load and throttles very very less( see Erica's video) and does not stutter in games like some Samsung "flagships". Heck it even records 4K video as long as there are gigs on phone to fill and guess what, it already has oreo. Sure Sony is adamant about few things but haters like you seriously need to find a worthwhile job to do.
