Sony has big bezel because focus to make it thin, what i consider big bezel is iPhone where thickness as big the bezel

seems like a XZ Premium with bezelless screen. Its very good, but the SD 835 in 2018 will not sell very well

Dear tech bloggers .. please stop using the overrated word "BEZELLESS" ... please call it "MINIMAL BEZELS" or "NEAR BEZELLESS ... almost all the so-called bezelless have at least some bezels either on top/bottom or on all 4 sides.

Sony and bezel-less just dont go together

what?! only now Sony is open their eyes?! this reminds me of a song by Justin Timberlate called Apologize, and it starts like:

"It's too late to apologize, its too late..."

ANd this will be the markting song for this device! Xperia Z3 already should have almost bezeeless screen tobody and it will be the killer of all phones since then, but Sony wont change a thing (until now it seems).

Well, when i have my Xperia Z Ultra i wanted it to be bezzeless because it will look stuning, intead of a 6.44 inch it could have a 18:9 7 inch for sure it wont change the phone size!

now thinking on that is really a move forward, but...its too late, if the phone have something unique then it will sell good and if the price is right (wich i doubt since we are talking about Sony)...but even chinese brands like XIaomi, Elephone, VKWorld and etc etc have bezeless diplay phones those days, what that brands have more than Sony? i think nothing because Sony is in the game for more years so need to have more know-how!

THe only days SOny have that "know how" is when they have Ericsson onboard, Sony Ericsson was a very very excelent brand with perfect inovations...

i want a rectangle phone bezeless for sure, and nothing can fo it better than Sony, so...speed up and do not only High end but some mid and low end bezeless Sony, pls.

Good to hear of all these tech, bezel-less etc. For us the general users, battery life is probably still the most important. We don't want a phone with features we want, dying on us during the day as we continue to use it, just because we don't have the privilege of sitting at one place during the day to charge it. Sony's battery life ever since the Z3 has not been impressive, in fact it's rather on the decline. The battery tests are there. That's mainly what prevented me from going forward to their next flagships. My work keeps me on the move the whole day with heavy use of the features on the phone. I need a phone to last from waking to bedtime

Sony, bigger batteries, long lasting phones please

FinnishInquisition, 30 Nov 2017Why would you need AMOLED? That's just a Samsung marketing ... moreOkay mister FinnishInquisition... I do not appreciate the fact that this device will not be using an OLED panel.

But Samsung has 95% or so of the OLED market share, and these are all called AMOLEDs. Unless you want to risk a P-OLED from LG (Pixel 2...). But since you insist I'll say Super AMOLED.

And for those that say "OLED not good colors", Sammy's panels can acheive a DeltaE of around 1.5, while the XZp has 4.5. Closer to 1 means more accurate colors, with 1 meaning IRL colors

Even though no sd845, the chipset after sd810 is already go enough already, that because that company is so greedy that it take all sd845 chipset just for their phone first and leave other to waiting a few month, and that time went arrive, they already sell their phone successfully because new sd845.such a dirty trick

I do not care much about bezels but when I imagine a Sony phone without bezels I think it is gonna look awesome. Sony styling is like no other phone maker. They have their own style and a Sony is easily recognizable among other brands. The only thing they should change is pricing.

Assuming it's 18:9, 5.7" in that size means 76% screen to body ratio. What doesn't sound right to me is the larger side bezels compared to the xz1. They've got really slim side bezels on the xa1 ultra and pretty slim on the xa1 plus which has a side mounted scanner.

Take xa1 plus side bezels and the width is 73.1mm, and the screen to body ratio moves up to 78.9%. That with the stereo speakers intact is good enough imo.

This might just be a Xz1s of sorts and not a true next gen sony device anyway.

Gl on that. New phone with old hw. Only bc Sammy has to feed the apple wannabe ego.

75% BtS ratio in this day and age is extremely low. When god was raining good ideas , sony engineers where carrying an umbrella it seems...

Lol at the people buying their products.

Maame Raggae, 30 Nov 2017I feel 4gb RAM is too little for the time it would be releasedSony is used to being a year late to the party since the days of the Arc S and Xperia S.
4GB lf RAM killed too many flagships in 2017 for me like the S8+, XZP, V30, Pixel 2 and regular Mate10,,, looks like Sony will keep the trend in 2018.

If its true Samsung are abusing their position to receive favourable treatment from Qualcomm, while all others have to wait, I hope regulators slap a double-digit billion dollar fine on both corporations. That's beyond scummy.

And please Sony, this time use the Camera2 API and bring RAW support.

lol same thing with HTC, the bezels on the U11+ are larger than the large bottom bezel on my 4-year old LG G2.

At MWC we may see a QHD screen phone to replace XZs.

The Premium will show up at IFA.
