Kristo Radion, 10 Jan 2018i wonder if someday we can plug flashdrive to Android, and ... moreRemoving the "bloatware" wouldn't make Android much lighter, but making it install like Windows would add gigabytes of hardware drivers (like Windows), make it slower and less power efficient (like Windows), as it would no longer be optimized for one particular phone.

i wonder if someday we can plug flashdrive to Android, and install any OS we want. home edition, pro edition, android 6,7,8, etc. Like Windows.
btw, Android should be made lighter, i mean the bloatwares. Not everybody uses that. Android should give us a choice to really delete system apps, not just disabling them. Like Gmail, i never used that, i use AquaMail or MailDroid since i also have outlook and yahoo and I need push mail for those as well.
Drive, notes, task, play games, play music, i never used them.

Wonder if it will work on my Xperia play with 250mb internal storage

Anonymous, 06 Dec 2017So which one is lighter, Android One or Android Go Edition?Android One is just a slightly customized version of "pure" Android for low end phones. It is hardly any lighter than any other lightly skinned Android UI such as the one used by Nokia (HMD). The main point of Android One was to provide phones with timely updates and standard Google Android experience for developing markets. Traditionally low end Android phones get virtually no updates at all.

In Anandtech it was mentioned that this is usefull when you have 8gb storage so very low end indeed is the target.

This is a good move, developing countries and people in poor regions need cheap and usable phones, congratulations, Google !

as i recalled correctly a few year back, google release kitkat(4.4) that intended to run on low end system in mind .. so this new Oreo Go is basically the same idea with new updated material design UI ?
