But you are typical nokian - uneducated and trying to misinform others. Doesn't matter where fake headquarters. Only truth matters. All "nokia" phones developing and producing by Foxconn. HMD global doing marketing and releasing worst camera app. That's all in fact. They have to hold infrastructure for updates but sure - it's not hmd work too in fact. And what about patents amd licensed? I can tell you what about they are. Style and camera app ui most. You literally lies in every comment.

And yeah, Huawei and only a very few other manufacturers (or devices, really..) are going to get the support with their Oreo-updates. Damn shame that Google won't force manufacturers to bring the support, but I guess that's just business to manufacturers.

Well, when you graduate kindergarten, check out who designs and develops the Nokia phones (hint: It's HMD, located on the Nokia campus in Espoo, Finland, opposite the Nokia Corporation HQ) where they get their research and patents (hint: It's Nokia Technologies) and who sets the device requirements (hint: It's Nokia Corporation).

Why the mods permit your trolling/brand-bashing I'll never understand.

PS: don't hate on something where you have no sufficient information, your knowledge about FoxConn is lacking as well fighter behind the keyboard, voila.

Hiroshima Daisuki, 06 Dec 2017What is HMD and Project Treble? Can you explain this in a s... moreHMD is a Finnish startup company with Nokia veterans. They are the ones developing and releasing the Nokia smartphones, supported by the Nokia Corporation.

Project Treble is a Google project for Android intended as a step to resolve issues with fragmentation and slow OEM device updates. It supposedly works by separating the OS framework from the hardware code framework. In other words, one release of Android could theoretically work on all devices without having to involve the hardware vendors (like Qualcomm, MediaTek, Broadcom, etc).

I personally liked this article on the subject: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/05/google-hopes-to-fix-android-updates-no-really-with-project-treble/

And worst employee who cannot be earnrd to other good companies desided to release Foxconn phones under old and failed brand. All talented employee were hired to other companies in Microsoft times. All misfits became hmd global and pretend to be Finnish company. Infact they just do marketing things. Other things doing Foxconn - developing and producing phones. Then hmd use aosp as firmware. For international sales they just add google apps and services. Project Treble cannot be handled withsuch structure. As any Chinese phonemaker with AOSP.

The only thing they got right so far is the price of theur flagship. And for good reason since everything is mediocre and it'll get even more mediocre when they remove the 3.5mm jack.

How does Treble work? I don't quite understand how this thing works. I need enlightenment and knowledge. Thanks in advance.

LG superfan, 05 Dec 2017. It seems that Treble requires a special partitioning of t... moreIt's simple standardisation of driver's, RIL's and other vendor blobs so that newer one's can be pushed directly by vendors & skipping the man in the middle entirely (OEM's). It does need a kernel infrastructure & uniformity in place to work. On the other hand the two system partitions (prime/backup) that Google is practicing its a bit tricky to implement with OTA's but not impossible. Their is a lot of the partition menages for other OS-is that work with remote access & use small self made partition to operate. Same just needs to be written/adjusted for Android.
Up to date public available their is only one Android partition manager, it's costly & far from advanced, also without remote access.
                                      https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roehsoft.ptk.sd

It's relatively easy to integrate Project Treble if the kernel infrastructure requirements are meet. It whosent intended for third party ROM developers but for users benefit & responsible vendors. While I can understand on lo end phones & one's with older SoC's that don't have newer kernel on the new phones which do have it it's simply irresponsible.
