well , buying a computer and buying mobile now days cost same, but output of the phone foolish.
first of all for example the camera,,, sound like toy. not normal as , pan or lux has come up with 13 mp with auto focus ,,, which sound money worth for the technology.
second os,,,,, why dont they make os like windows where peoople can execute computer software.
then more than 70 % population will carry the smart phone bez they dont have go through freqently to the computer.
then wheather its cost $10000 it is worth it .
hope some day linux or windows will built such os for the mobile .

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2011I still don't think you are looking at this from the point ... morewell ... if you think samsung is the only who copying other people stuff then you are wrong... Apple is copying others too so forget about copying. Apple said 6 technical infringement. Apple iphone never make the hardware by themselves, always by third party company. so i dont know what makes them think they own the stuff and sue for samsung technical infringement. Design... Hard to say.. ios5 copying the status bar from android so that makes google can talk to USITC and say hey .. ban the iphone cuz they copy my design... also .. layout doesnt mean design.. everyone could have same layout of website that doesnt mean you are infringement. Samsung easytouch wiz sure looks alike to ios layout but hey .. doesnt mean only apple can use that kind of layout or scroll the apps from horizontal ~ I'm not saying samsung is better or apple is better ... just talking straight about this.. I just hope everyone could settle this peacefully and customer can enjoy the phone they have ~

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2011I still don't think you are looking at this from the point ... moreThe iphone might be still selling very well but it's market share is constant...while Android is on a continuor rise! The failure to attract formal RIM and windows users is a settback for Apple and a victory for Android! Few people expected i9000 to do so well in US. Apple included...otherwise they would have asked it to be banned! The condition were different then...Samsung did not have so much popularity back then and Android was not at the level that it is today! Now both of them can hope of achieving much better results because of i9000 succes and the imense interest generated by SG2! The conditions would have been ideal...if it wasn't for the lawsuit...but there are still very good prospects! The lawsuit was put forward in order to discredit Samsung and creaty an unpleasant environment for SG2 when it's launched! Apple are afraid of strong competitors ! I believe that Galaxy 2 will fight hand to hand with iphone 5! I also believe that Android is the platform of the future and will continue to rise and expand!

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2011I still don't think you are looking at this from the point ... moreWhen a phone has high specs it usually performs very well in real life! Galaxy has the specs, but also it's performance is at the highest levels. It's true that are still some bugs but millions of people enjoy it's blazing speed, superb video and the freedom of Android! You criticise Samsung for the overheating problem....it will be taken care of anyway...well at least the functions of the phone are not affected at all! Remember antennagate? In the early days even with hundreds of complaints apple lied to it's costumers denying the problem exists! Only after the presure increase did they adress the problem....how can you say Apple's restrictions do not affect an ordinary user? Lack of flash support,no true multitasking,no file transfer over bluetooth, the dependency on itunnes...those are thing an ordinary user expects from his handset!

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2011I still don't think you are looking at this from the point ... moreNice text you wrote there, but I dont agree. First of all, the only reason for Apple having so much success with the iPhone, has nothing to do with having some sort of supreme product. I really cant see what that point of view is, what youre talking about... I really cant see, why an OS, which completely consists of an app drawer is so superior, because thats all what iOS is, an Appdrawer. So, if I look at it as an non Techy boy, than why would I choose iPhone over some other Android device? Only reason would be, because it has better marketing or I have toooooooo much money and dont know, where to spend it at. If it comes to Apps, I couldnt find a single app, which was actually a useful one and not crap like an Zippo Lighter or an iBeer, which was really better than on Android, not worse, but not better, too. Android is a easy to use OS with lots of cool features which can do all iOS can and some more.
Also funny is, that iPhone users talk about not caring about open source... really, i dont care about open source, but what i care about is, that if I buy a device, that it actually is my device and I am allowed to do with it, whatever I want. You know, on Android nobody cares what you change in your phone, but Apple for example does all, to make sure, nobody can call his phone unique anymore.
So why would i choose an iPhone? Certainly not, because its the better phone, certainly not, because iOS is a better OS, so there are only 2 things left... I like to overspend my money, or I have no idea of hardware and am really impressed by all this white apple bling bling.
No really now, every Applefan is so funny, that they call Samsung unable to have their own ideas, because Apple buys copy Hardware from Samsung and puts it in their phone. Somehow I dont understand that logic, that Samsung has two assembly lines... 1 for good and 1 for bad product... The good ones they sell to apple and the bad ones they take for themselves, right? I believe everybody with a normal human sense and those with a better sense understand, that this is totally stupid, but most of Applefans dont actually look up, to see, if those fact are right, they just heard it once from a different applefan and just take them, like they are real...
But hey, i totally understand why every iPhone user actually sticks to Iphone so much... I too would really feel extremly stupid to realize, that i paid twice as much, for half the hardware. But hey, I like to pay for everything 4 times as much, at least there is a white apple logo on the device, right?
Ah, by the way, App store is close to be only second and I dont want to make you applebees cry, but face the fact, that appstore really never will overtake again, because it cant, because there a like 20x more programmers for Java around the world, than for MAC and it is by the way much easier to bring your app the the man. Iphone was innovative, but its time has come. There is just nothing anymore, an iPhone could possibly do now, to stay best of all, there is just no way, toooooo many fact against it.
Also funny is, how every iphonefan says it is so user friendly... what is un-userfriendly on Android? Every part of Android is as userfriendly as iOS is, so why is that? Because it is Google, who actually understands, what userfriendly means and since Googles innovative people dont help Apple out anymore, nothing really improved on iOS in an Userfriendly way. But than they say, the design is soooo special, so if a phones hardware doesnt matter, onlys the looks, why bother buying an iPhone? Their are these wunderful equal looking Chinacopies of iPhone for a tenth of the iphone price, but with the same looks.
Only thing thats left, is some Applebees feeling really dumb or cheated by their provider and so simply have to defend the iPhone, because anything else would harm their intellct.
Ah, come to think of the word userfriendly... is it userfriendly of a company, to make you do with their phone, what they want you to, instead of giving you something, which works like it is, but gives you the chance to make it your own unique device.
Also really funny is, to see, how most Applebees suddenly think EVERY APPLE product is some sort of supreme... But if I remember right, Apple really almost were insolvent by the time of the first iPod... Their Mac devices didnt change in quality, but suddenly they are sooooooooo special? You see, non of em is able to understand what counts and you know whats best of all, that Apple themselves knows all that, but is smart enough to rely on stupidity of human and really laughs behind your back about you, that you bought their device, I mean, they really like you for buying it... who wouldnt like to sell something for 4 times its worth? That all really made me understand, why it is so successful in the US, because apple aint the smart and actual easy way, its just the lazy way.

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2011Everyone speaks so highly about the iphone because it sells... moreThat is a very simplistic assessment. Apple has had failures as well as successes. Every company will celebrate good sales anyway. Samsung also made a big noise about selling 3 mil in 55 days. iPhone sells well because its selection of features, and user interface, combine to give a user experience that please many. It is not perfect by any means.
GSMArena unfortunately in my opinion, is home to many Samsung fans, which quickly vote down any rival product. Witness the LG Optimus White, which only turned up on this site very recently, and has quickly gone down in votes.
It is better to do careful research, and if possible, have first hand experience with any product before you buy. Also be clear what you want from your device. What is the best for me, may be different for you. In the end, when it comes to your purchase, only your opinion counts.

Everyone speaks so highly about the iphone because it sells a lot. High sales figures do not mean the phone is superior. If apple were to take a samsung S2, HTC Sensation, or Atrix. and place an apple logo on the back of it and call it the iphone 5 it would have record sales. Steve Jobs would rave about flash support, ability to transfer files via bluetooth, expandable memory, larger display, and end of the itunes requirement. When it bocomes available, people would camp in front of the srore for 2 weeks instead of 1. GSM arena allows readers to compare which phones are better. Sales figures are irrelevant to a phones capability and speaks more to an uninformed consumer that simply falls in line with trends and slick marketing. We all know that regardless of what apple puts out in september, it will have high sales as long as their logo is on it. Be honest.

Sun, 10 Jul 2011I think Apple is worried that's why they are sueing Samsung... moreI still don't think you are looking at this from the point of view of the regular ordinary customer. Nobody but techies really cares about "open source" and "restrictions" and barely do they know what all of that means. Specs mean nothing either! As I said before the iPhone sells extremely well even when faced with products that are much newer (most top Android phones are now). 30 million is A LOT OF PHONES when you put it into that perspective. Add to that the high customer satisfaction rate. Add to that the higher and better selection of apps, many of them work on both the iPhone AND iPad.
If the Galaxy S could only sell 10 million and the iPhone 4 sold 30. AND every release of the iPhone has sold significantly more than the one before it... What's to stop the next model from doing the same? The Galaxy came out with supposedly better hardware than the iPhone 3. Yet only generated a 3rd in sales.
The iPhone 4, provided Apple keeps it around another year, will probably sell another 5-10 million at least. Thus increasing its rights on the all time best selling phone list. And cementing it as probably the best selling smartphone ever.
And there you go again... just like all the others. Apple isn't the only company going after Samsung. All of you Samsung fans are acting like Samsung is so great and does no wrong. They copy everyone in design. Apple, Microsoft, and Nokia (the current ones in the news) are just trying to protect their patents. There is nothing wrong with that whatsoever. And why should Samsung get off on this one? They are far from perfect. Again - this is not about Apple being cry babies. Its all legal and the intent is completely understandable. The timing is, however, does make you wonder if they held off till now. But Samsung has been in Apple's target for a while now. So I really don't think it matters one way or the other.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions about this, but some logical perspective would do some people some good. The S2 will sell well, regardless of if its sold here or not. However, its going to have to do a lot take down whatever Apple has up its sleeve. And did you happen to notice that link I present yesterday? The iPhone is still the most requested single handset at most US retailers.
As for market share, with the smartphone market increasing at a monstrous rate - that 1.5% is still a huge truck load of devices. Another thing to consider is that more and more phone manufactures are producing more Android phones. While the number of iPhones models available for sale has pretty much been only 2 models.
I'm impressed that Apple can maintain an INCREASE in market share in a GROWING smartphone market with only 2 devices... and maintain those high levels of satisfaction. I said it before I'll say it again - that is success no matter how you slice it.

Sun, 10 Jul 2011I told you I never buy my phones with a contract. I don't w... moreIf the first galaxy didn't reduce Apple's share increase, then what makes you think this new one will? Many iPhone customers that are up for renewal with their contracts are probably eyeing up the new iPhone. And since Apple's customers are generally the most satisfied - why would they change? They may take SOME of Apple's customers but on the flip side - those that had previous Galaxy models may jump ship to the iPhone. If they had any experience even remotely like mine - they will indeed not get another Samsung. And if more and more people hear about the Galaxy S2 overheating issues (that die hards will not admit exist) then you can bet customers will be hesitant.
I do think the S2 will sell well though. However given the historical track record of how the iPhone does in sales (even when faced with supposedly better phones with higher specs) its highly probable the next iPhone will do just as well and probably better than iPhone 4 did.

[deleted post]Samsung might make decent hardware but putting it all together and making everything work seamlessly is where the real test is at. Besides, its more than just hardware that makes a great phone. If the OS is inefficient and glitchy then what's the point of all that great hardware?
