The original Pixel still out performs this phone even though by the time of the notes release the pixel would be 18-24 months older!
Better off getting a pixel/XL at a similar price if stock is available!

Be Nice To Others, 08 Dec 2017Too much light is not good for the sensors either. And I'm ... moreI know f1.7 + 1/3" is worse than f1.9 + 1/2.3"

Some sensors can deal with much light.
      ISO up to 12800.

      Imx 220, imx300 and imx400.

It would be f1.4 at night and f1.7 or 1.9 in daylight. Just like our eyes.

Shutter works faster to deal with much light, but for videos f1.6, f1.7 are worse than 1.9 or 2.0.
Scene becomes too bright and artificial.

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2017Why Xiaomi is not launching this phone in india its sale w... moreIf it launches it will cost 40000 because they can only launch good products in china and custom duty will increase the price in India . Look they are doing bullshit thing by giving selfie camera in Redmi y1 and all people are buying it I cannot believe .then they gave dual camera In mi A1 .so that's why they are not launching mi note 3 because both things are present on this phone .Xiaomi does not want to give both things in one phone .their good products will always launch in china .

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2017Yes... ( 2 x Photos + video)/3 But the subscore has... moreThat's some internal scaling they use. There are 9 subcategories, so you will need the score of 9 phones with all the sub-scores to calculate the weight of each subcategory.

It's a standard linear equation, with 9 variables. If you are very enthusiastic, please do it. Try it on a 10th phone, and if it works we were correct in assuming it's linear.

Else, a neural network seems to be the only way to reverse-engineer the formula, within a decent accuracy, once we have decent dataset of course.

Be Nice To Others, 08 Dec 2017Too much light is not good for the sensors either. And I'm ... moreCompletely agreed, some people always whining for wider aperture but they didn't know that wider aperture also cause distortion, vignetting and corner softness and the fact it will cause the camera to overexposed not to mention the shallow DOF

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2017I want a phone that can change the f. Make it work betwee... moreToo much light is not good for the sensors either. And I'm not a big fan of it for various reasons:
1 - To elaborate my first statement, pictures taken with extremely low aperture will often turn out softer and is more prone to lens flaring.
2 - Aperture is just about 15% of the overall assessment. One can have f1.0 aperture but use a mediocre 1/3" sensor and it will be of no use at all. F4.0 on an APS-C is still better.
3 - It proves to be not that really beneficial. I mean yeah, low light pictures are gonna be brighter with lower noise values and faster shutter speed, but they can only get so far. Not even professional photographers with proper camera equipments and digital cameras that are light years ahead of all smartphones, would take a photo in less than ideal situations. I'm not against the idea though, but typically these things tend to happen, so I'd rather not risk it.

Today has proof that DxOMark scored mean Nothing.. just a number with "Very High Hype". In real live those number doesn't match with actual result.

Mi Note 3 got 90 points... What a joke.. haa haa..

But the subscore has been changed to. I believe some categories have more weight than others.

How could a phone score 101 for photo when no item even is 100?

Any phone that has a 2nd 50-60mm lens camera + optical zoom will have great score.
