I love Sony's beautiful choice of colors for the xperia line, aside from gooogle's pixel series its the only phones to really have any visual character~

Anonymous, 15 Dec 2017Sony won't die, It is big company. but its mobile division ... moreits not that sony cant innovate.. its that it innovate too much and those innovations are picked and reserved by other makers.. e.g. iPhone4 and above all use Sony Sensor and they have bought the exclusive rights so tightly that even sony cannot use its own bleeding edge sensors at the time of iPhone launching/introducing with its flagships. Even when Gorillaglass was baby n sucking on baby milk n crawling on all 4 limbs.. sony was using a ceramic mixture in its screen which even beats gorillaglass-5... google on "shattered screen" for all samsung, htc, lgc, sony, iphone.. least image results come for sony. even iPhone screen shattering is similar to highest shattering samsung. sony has always been scratchproof+shatterproof ... GG5 sneaked the term out of shatterproof dishonestly only kept marketing scratchproofing uptil version 5 delusioning people's subconscious that scratchproof must also be meaning everything (including shatterproof). Sony has been renowned to have OS skinning/customizing on part and latter even better than the then best HTC's skinning/customizing, why cuz sony is the developer of Playstation OS and that too trickles down in their Android added features. Lastly just the graceful camera location on rear of sony's phones is so epic that samsung and LG gives vomit with those ugly circles (now 3rd circle for finger) even note8 has pathetic rear camera appearance/bulge/arrangement with flash. iPhone copied sony's rear camera positioning and appearance + flash placement (copied from sony's walkman) http://allthingsd.com/20120726/apples-iphone-has-sony-style-says-samsung/

Even the pink or purple also match with boy to man. Recently the XZ Premium release the red color, it is gorgeous with the mirror back cover!

Sony must not leave out the color pink and purple on their Ultra's for the ladies.
Sony cameras are great with manual settings but they should focus more on their superior auto mode. People just point and shoot. They must put OIS and not just on the software stabilization. Sony is always late cause they tend not to listen to the trend. Sony = Stubborn.

A monochrome one and a colour one could do great, maybe HDR on the monochrome one and blue, green and red shots on the normal lens?

Everybody only tests auto, because iPhone has no manual. Then tech sites believe it is not fair..
XZP can do pretty well if you set:
Daylight = 1/280s + ISO 40 + EV 0.7
Low light = 1s + ISO 50 + EV 0.3

Gossips say that one phone may have 12 + 12 working together to shoot 24MP.

How about they fix their camera instead so it can beat the Pixel 2 and the iPhone X? Like lowering the resolution to like 12MP while keeping the same size sensor for bigger pixels, as well as adding OIS and fixing their interface and camera software to make the camera start-up time and capture time faster.
Sure, Sony makes great camera sensors but then it makes poor use of such sensors by having poor software optimization and hardware to make use of such great hardware.
