Yes they are spoiled, but some do tend to look outside the box. I dont know why everyone believes that Huawei is new to the US. They are not There were selling a few phones as far back as 2005 under GameStop's failed H2O brand.

Huawei should learn the lesson from their success in Japanese market. In Japanese market where Apple iphone has over 50% market share, Huawei made a notable success recently. Even Samsung have failed to crack the Japanese market. Samsung has around mere 8~10% market share and 5th place in sales rank. But this fall, Huawei succeed with P10 lite model. Huawei P10 lite become top-selling model in all Android phone in Japan (except iphone). The key of such success was its cheap price: 25,000 JPY or $220 USD. So if the price is right, Huawei and Xiaomi will succeed as in Japan.

The lack of competition in the U.S. is one of the primary reasons as to why flagship prices have inflated so much. Considering that Apple, Samsung, and LG are the top 3 companies in the US that people actually take seriously, it's not surprising that the prices have risen as they have. Huawei and Xiaomi entering the mix will do nothing but good things for the US smartphone market, their flagships are very comparable to Samsung and LG who have had a lot of success in the US, and if they can keep competitive pricing on their flagship units, then the loss of potential customers will wake LG and Samsung up to the fact that they need to start being more competitive with their pricing as well. All this might also cause Apple to take a 2nd look at their pricing plans as well to keep up with the competition. Either way, everyone wins - Xiaomi and Huawei gets more international exposure, and consumers get more flagship options outside of the Big 3. And this is not even taking the mid-range market into account either!

USA consumers are spoiled, and mentality not to buy Chinese brands could proof very hardly for Huawei and Xiaomi

I think they will have a hard time succeeding without improving their products. In Canada, which is similar to USA, Huawei was been pushing the P10 model all of last year with strong carrier support (many of the ads I saw last year and early this year from leading carrier, Rogers, were for Huawei phones). Yet, I don't think it has sold well and we haven't seen Huawei introduce any other models in Canada since then. For instance, I haven't seen any carrier-supported Huawei products this xmas season. I assume the prior product was a bust and they are withdrawing from the market, or only introducing one model every few years.
The problem is that their product (at least the P10) isn't priced well. It is nowhere near the quality/features of high-end Samsung phones. They really can't win any market share if they price it similar to high-end Samsungs or older iPhones (say 1.5 year old iPhones or something). The carriers may be providing a slightly higher discount on high-end Samsung/iPhone/etc so it may not be Huawei price issue alone.
Similar thing will play out in USA. They really can't price their phones anywhere near the high-end Samsungs (S8/S8+) or slightly older iPhones. Their screen quality, camera, etc just can't match the Samsung screen or iPhone camera or any key feature. Their only hope is to win on price unless they are somehow able to out-innovate Samsung and Apple.

LG on the other side... They are screwed in near all the scenarios...
Alcatel... They will dissapear.

Apple will not be affected in large. But Samsung and LG will be hit hard in groin. Samsung will not be affected much above $600 segments (Galaxy S/Note).
But in $600 and below segment of market, Huawei and Xiaomi will compete squarely with Samsung /LG. Samsung will be pushed down to 2nd or 3rd place by Xiaomi, Huawei as it did in India. Xiaomi phones have incredible price advantage and great performance over Samsung and LG. Samsung simply can not compete on this regards. Rein of Samsung on US Android phone market is about to end. Bye Galaxy, I will not miss you.

Great stuff for US market,for buyers..In a budget category(150-300$) no Samsung can match Xiaomi for a value/price.In 300-500$ both offer excellent phones (mi 6,mi note 3,even mi mix 2 - entire Honor line,P10,Mate 9).So they both could win budget and midrange market.Samsung and Apple will retain their flagship territory,but who knows,Americans might realize what they're getting for (way) less $$.Downside?I think ZTE might be biggest loser here,they are No.4 in US at the moment,but their chinese mates will eat them simply because ZTE doesn't offer anything to worry these two,especially in that price range.Axon 7 is gone,sadly,the succesor will come,but that's just one against few dozen..All the others,Sony,LG,HTC,Nokia,well if they cannot outsell ZTE,what to expect from them vs. upcoming chinese players,and they are mighty..
Only thing that will stop them to conquer US is greed.If the prices remains the same like in rest of the world-great,if they pump up their prices that might be their defeat..

That would be interesting. How will they compete against samsung and apple will they be able to take customers away, I think they will since now a days more people care about quality rather than status symbol if Huawei and Xiaomi can break the status symbol mind they just might succeed

P10 can be found currently for about 400 euro and even less. New, with a valid warranty.

Their challenge in the US would be providing support. Support is not cheap. There is Apple who provides support by themselves (and they can afford it), and there are the rest of Android OEMs who let the carriers do the support. Xiaomi and Huawei can get a way with many things in Asia because consumer protection laws are not as strict/easily enforced. But not the case in the US. Thus most companies partnered with carriers. Downside is, the carriers dictate a lot on what devices they can sell.
Imo Xiaomi should enter via Google as their channel. They already have the Android One Mi A1. But not sure if Google wanted to let Xiaomi take away people from buying their overpriced Pixel. Huawei on the other hand already has a foothold, just need to market themselves better.

People still perceived Apple and Samsung as a more branded brand and a show of status symbol. Just like Xiaomi first launch in Singapore years ago and now we don’t even care, although Oppo is very fierce trying to gain customers, it’s still dominated by Apple (60%), Samsung (30%) and the rest is other Android OEMs.
