      It wont affect OnePlus phones because they have built in display network speed option under status bar settings.

                      Okay, at this point one must accept that this sort of thing is normal in USA, so the question is whether other countries will be affected as well. i.e. I am hoping that carriers in it countries won't do that.

                        If ever there was a day to try & slip something under the radar then Xmas is the day.
                        Therefore, I believe this story & pray for another OS not locked in to 1 manufacturer too...... Not Tisan on a device as poor as the z4.

                          If it actually happens it'll be like a really dumb thing and one step closer for Android to become iOS.

                                    Net neutrality is gone, Carriers are now open to create false advertising if they hide information from the consumer.

                                      In a way, this makes sense.

                                      The whole signal reception measurement is highly inaccurate anyway. They may as well show nothing when reception is decent and a warning when reception is poor.

                                        So google is kneeling before carriers and removing essential features.

                                        And now the reason - maybe some users will stop complaining to carriers about weak signal strength.
