13 July, 2011
RIM is obviously not having the best of times recently, but it certainly hasn't lost its fighting spirit. The company plans to launch seven new BlackBerry smartphones before this year has ended...

I use android for personal but my job provides me with a BB. BB has a long way to go before it even comes close to android or even iOS. I get my work emails on my android so I just set the BB to forward and only use it once a week to charge it. BB better step it up a great deal with this new OS, the big wigs at my company are already trashing their BBs to use their androids and iphones.

They do things very slow... launch a model, takes "donkey years"! Read a shocking report that only this year in North America, they lost 1 million customers. In the whole world, it could be 2 million. Blackberry users are turning Android or iPhone. The main reason for converting is data speed and apps. Nevertheless, blackberry still remains the KING OF PUSH MAILS and probably the KING OF QWERTY keyboard. They finally wake up now...to launch SEVEN models in 6mths.

Blackberry, you keep pushing back. This time if you do so, make sure everything is working with no problems/Bugs, otherwise I promise you, more people will leave your market faster than you can say "Competition"

          That is all.

You are a bit pathetic... I'm an IPhone user on my private line and a BBerry user for my business line. And let me tell you, both are great ! And business wise, BBerry (9780) is unbeatable ! Easy, quick, super strong battery life and very nice to use. So, YES the IPhone is great and hype, but YES the BBerry experience is still fantastic and NEEDED. Thanks for trying to be a bit more neutral and smart. Cheers

RIM is failing to innovate in comparison to Apple & Android devices. 4 year after first capacitive touch screen device launched and RIM just has 2 touch screen devices. The OS is old. I tried PlayBook and it looks fresh - they should get a similar or better OS and have more powerful devices than Samsung, etc. and better design than iPhone!

blackberry needs a entirely new os if they wana keep up, i cant use that phone for more than 5 mins before getting irritated, no speed, no good apps, crap camera(most of them), pathetic internet speed, i can go on and on.
bottom line is if blackberry never have bis they wouldnt sell 5% of what they sell now

                      People still buy Blackberries??
I thought they were delegated to the companies that still required them because they are pretty far behind the curve when it comes to competing with the last couple of years of actual consumer devices.....as shown by market gains for Apple and Google.

Blackberry Jam, 13 Jul 2011Putting 7 new devices on the market to meet financial targe... morewow, i can't believe such a words can upset people that much.. they had a weak start this year, of course this is based on the financial.. but i'm pretty sure that they were hoping to meet the customer need too, coz nobody will buy it if it isn't so.. as always, nobody forcing you to buy one. :)

Putting 7 new devices on the market to meet financial targets, rather than meet the needs of the customer?
Er, *EPIC FAIL*. I'm not paying hundreds for half-baked junk just to keep them afloat.

If they created a UBER-powerful device I'd buy it. Would you?
                          e.g.
No memory limit on applications. Fully touch based interface (like the iphone) as well as the onehand keypad. Long lasting battery (with solar charging). A device that boots in a fraction of a second, and acts without delay (A phone isn't smart if I have to wait 5 minutes before I can use it to make a call). High resolution screen (at least 800x600), plus the common sense functionality of the Blackberry devices that earned their fame.

reading the title of this article made me think rim doesn't believe it'll sell more than 7 devices in the remainder of 2011. Hope they'll do better than that ;-)
