Yeah unless you update it to the latest OS, apps won't no longer update specifically working on an OS version, slowing the phones overtime if you did update these apps or will no longer be able to install newer applications. Started with Lenovo's 1st android phone (A 60), upgraded to a faster P780, then the flagship K920, then now Xiaomi's Mi Note 2. No matter what you say, you'll still upgrade. I guarantee that.

No Motorola just promise Android Updates then Renage on what they promise i.e. the Moto G4 is without Android Oreo Update and no Bug Updates for Android 7.

I'm sure Samsung doesn't do that sh!t. They hardly even push updates to phones.

Can confirm that my 2012 Moto X works just as good as the day I bought it. I've since updated phones but the X is still running strong and it's been my backup may times.

HTC and Motorola don't provide software and security updates so if you think going online without the latest updates is a good thing go with HTC and Motorola.

HTC and Motorola also don't give update for their device for 4 years.

Well, you are right. Also there's no worring that your device performance or battery life will drop over time. And all apps work just the same :)

Not only they are putting insane prices, stealing our data, but they remove features, OS and UI are boring and hardware is crappy, and overal design is the worst.

“While the company's intention is actually to prolong the life of those devices that are affected by aging batteries”

Why can you judge this to be true?
I never heard about other manufacturer's phone died because of not throttling down the performance.
I guess he haven't seen affected device. It's not negligible, it's frustratingly slow

Very true. Last iPhones are slow than ever. But my Sony Z3 which is three years old works fine.

Well, HTC may not slowing down processor, instead it uses some mysterious software called service pack. I always felt that updating to latest version will try to keep the CPU awake and destroy the battery. It is not easy to replace battery in most flagship phones of HTC. Every manufacturer doing the same, but differently!
