AnonD-664474, 29 Dec 2017Eh, the iPhone 8 Plus lost because of poor RAM Management. ... moreBut the 8 plus couldnt so it lost.

I hope they'll make a successor for Exynos 7270 on 10nm LPP too. Dual core A55 with tweaks and we may approach 5-7 days battery time for wearables.

I can always go to other brand. Why are you so concern of Samsung devolved themselves? You a Samsung fanboy? Dont worry. Your brand just going to be fine.

Anonymous, 29 Dec 2017For those moaning about the a11 bionic, the buttboys, there... moreYou need to learn how to appreciate more.
I am an Android lover (am using an Android to type this reply) and I also have an iPad Air 2 on iOS 11.
I'm biased to Android more because it is an open source OS, but Apple's SoCs are simply unbeatable on smartphone world. You know they're that powerful, the SD845's Single Core performance is barely on par with the one on the Apple A9 of 2015.

I ain't talking about how fast iPhones and Androids are, but the chipsets in general instead. Gary Sims of Android Authority admits that Apple's SoCs are still best in the smartphone market.
Now if you would get your bias out of yourself, then we can motivate the Android OEMs to work harder and do something to win against Apple, 'cause competition is great for us consumers as in that way, we get even better products as early as possible.

Bewildered , 29 Dec 2017Apple always includes a faster processor as an upgrade. No... moreEh, the iPhone 8 Plus lost because of poor RAM Management. It is something with iOS 11 being poorly optimized. And maybe, just maybe, the 3GB RAM suddenly became inefficient for keeping the apps running.

But just look at how fast those games and heavy apps opened on the 8 Plus; the Note 8 took at least 1 second longer to load them, too.
If apps were kept by the 8 Plus, it would've won easily.

But try to do something heavier for the SoC and these numbers will mean a thing. For example, rendering a video will be way faster on A11 Bionic than SD835.

AnonD-664474, 29 Dec 2017A11 Bionic is still unbeatable to this stage. Let's face it... moreApple always includes a faster processor as an upgrade.
Note Apple is devoid of any media sharing apps, and the benefits these add to the phone user experience.
Having best benchmarks do not replace those app and the time saved which may be seconds
So not viewed the video so unsure if the poster is aware of this https://www.gsmarena.com/iphone_8_plus_vs_galaxy_note_8_a_speed_test-news-27491.php

In isolation so what, having media sharing enables syncing indeed you can sync Windows, Android, and Blackberry 10, OS without using a computer as in upgrading from one phone to another. Apple indeed make it easy to switch to IOS but you need a computer!

                Leaving Apple is another thing
The exynos soc means Samsung is in house so won't be paying Qualcomm to supply, so expect a lower benchmark, but again a side-by-side comparison is the true test

It is awkwardly placed in the middle of the two worlds (just enought for good viewership but excellent battery, and/or enough for good VR for netflix viewing). Samsung's dpi/res choice was/is disastrous... yet people still get buying.

I am sure the soc too would be underwhelming. S8' s was too.

Things would only get better as moving forward. As long as we keep pressing OEMs to raise the endurance, they will have to do something about it.
The majority of people wants thin, light & sexy device. Samsung is giving it to them after being ridiculed for using plastic build material. They don't care about what geeks think. I think you should accept the fact that whatever changes you want to see will not happen.

For those moaning about the a11 bionic, the buttboys, there is no point in loading higher performance cpus unless needed. S8 is capable of 4k at 60fps so thats the ceiling. Who knows apple made that cpu so they would not be the losers in all specs

When you experience the same usage on newer models lasts shorter than the model you had before, you have seen that manuals aren't based on the actual real life. And it all happened after the screen resolution got higher. So those who think oled and higher resolution has no effect on the battery that even get smaller, bc the phone "needs" to be paper thin. Get your fact right from real life, over what's in the manual or sponsored videos.

Where do you know the battery of S9 is tiny? I dont mind the curved edge. Way past complaining about it since S6. Doesnt seem like it going away any sooner. The resolution as far as I know is customizable. You can set it to FHD. At least the earjack still there every year; making it better than Apple.

Basically, hopefully it will really be "Beyond a Component", in other words, great (or at least as much as possible, with the A11 Bionic in mind).
