cause when you buy car it has let's say about 190mph and for example company say there is an update to ECU of car and after updating you find out your car can go up to 170 because of what? protection of engine? or less fuel consumption?
what you say is different and mostly fanboish!
have you ever see that companies like Microsoft and HP and other reduces cpu speed because of make battery last longer?

Updated apps that take advantage of new OS core features and strive for improved security will always need an up-to-date OS. That's why Windows XP is not supported anymore by a great number of software developers.
              Same with phones.

My current phone is 6s and it started freezing after ios11 update . Apple provided replacement after 10 months of use as it was under warranty. But what will happen if these issues are seen after my warranty expires. I think i will start seeing the same issue once battery wear increases as Apple has admitted they are capping the cpu frequency

Nothing new here..in the car industry they do it all the time. They limit the speed a car can get so as to protect the longevity of the engine. This is common practice. Not everybody knows it but no one is suing either as it will get nowhere. So apple is doing the same thing. If you don't like it, don't buy Apple.

Apple is prov... moreAs a buyer of virtually all Android phones except for Google's own, you should expect two years or less of support from your brand. Plus, you should expect that your phone's OS version will be a few months to a year behind Google's releases.

Apple supports their devices much, much longer: 5 years is common, give or take. The reason for the imperceptible slowing down (under heavy load only) is most likely perfectly valid, as the alternative would have been that some older devices would shut down under heavy load.

Perhaps Apple should have made their decision public, but I have a few older iPhones (down to iPhone 5) which work perfectly well. Something I can't say for a Galaxy 4 which doesn't boot up any longer.

It's amazing to see all these posts from people who probably have had limited exposure to Apple products, at best...

Aside from batteries, what about the modem ?
Apple is providing inferior modem from Intel on latest flagships . even after paying ridiculously high prices , Apple throttled the modem speed from QCOM to match Intels one

We as buyers think that we are getting a top performance product which will last for few years. Apple is hiding its motive as they think loyal fans can be fooled easily

Android manufactures , please bring back removable batteries

Apple updates models which can be as old as 5 years, and it has to do something to ensure that the old hardware works with the latest OS. Name another phone maker which updates the OS of 5 year old models.
The slowing down happens under very high load conditions and it's imperceptible to most people.

This is the main reason why I immediately switched to android after my iPhone 4s. We're the owner of our phones so we should be able to do whatever we wants with it. Here are some reasons why I'm not switching back to iDevices.
                                        1. the inability to downgrade firmware unless you're device is jailbroken and with backed up blobs
                                        2. you will be required to upgrade iOS, if not some of your apps can no longer be updated or run properly with updates.
                                        3. you won't feel that you own the device due to these restrictions and limitations unless you're using the phone the way Apple wants you to use it.
