It only has 2GB of RAM which kill its longevity (first sign that Samsung is having a stroke), android 5's minimum requirement is 2GB but 3GB+ if you want fluidity.

My friend has S5 which still works awesomley fluid, you can't say the same for iPhone 5 or 6, unless you change it's battery every year. To make it worse for Apple, battery on that S5 is still better than battery of some new iPhones...

What are you doing? Trying to pretend that fab sales or government contracts makes Samsung *mobiles* better? Because sure as hell they ain't. Their flagship sales are on all time low, their prices at all time high and their technical expertise nowhere to be found (a mere 2.5 years ago Exynos SoCs were top of the crop, these days ? After continuous 10% yoy increases it has basically dug to the bowels of the earth...)

Again, you should read the numbers. S6 was by far the worse selling S flagship of the last years. Only S1 sold less. Samsung took a giant step back and since then it has never recovered.
S7 which was the "good" new-gen S phone *still* sold less than S5 (55 mil in a year), S8 looks to be a flop in sales as S6 was as well ... Samsung is going *down*. Tech sites don't know it, economical analysts do.
The internal issues of Samsung *actually* made her products worse. From leading in most categories, is now trailing. TVs , cameras, home appliances, tables and phones. Samsung is trailing in *everything* that she used to lead 3-4 years ago.
What's happening on phones is actually indicative of the woes of Samsung as a company. Only the tech sites left to be praising her. Most people know by now that there are better phones in both raw specs, experience and value/price.
Note 4 was the last *great* Samsung phone. The last one that was leading in most major categories. Since then darkness came...
IMO Samsung should solve her internal issues and again strive to get back on top. The industry is tough and won't tolerate mediocrity for much longer. Samsung's flagship sales has fallen off a cliff...

The S5 was the flop that almost ruined Samsung's brand like the X is ruining Apple's brand. Remember when every gadget blog had doomed Samsung as a has-been flagship manufacturer ahead of the S6 launch? That Samsung would be better off just giving up mobile because their image was so cheap? After the S6 everybody has copied Samsung because they learned from their mistakes and out-Appled Apple on design and attention to detail.

Also Apple took the performance crown about 3 years ago ... that was my point, not that it is/was useful to have it in the first place. Then again Samsung became known partly because of specs, it's sad to see them go, soon their profits will too... oh wait, it already started, apple racks up most of all profits these days...

S6 edge was basically main selling point, it become so popular that now you don't have option at all on S8. S5 has much better design (removable battery) than newer Samsung S phones. Samsung ruined it's phones' design since the S6.

Apple take care the old battery because iPhone has under-clock the CPU to prevent bootlooping and now you can pay for a new battery to solve all of these annoying problems.
