I am a iPhone fan, since the first day I had one but I will not keep this phone one day if jailbrake will not be available because the original OS is way to restrictive and jailbrake makes it better

For my opinion from the day that the IOS was jailbroken STEVE JOBS was happy back then because if apple is serious about stopping the jailbreaking thing they could have stop this from day one. It is one of the thing that makes an iphone so great but ofcourse with an extra effort and few brain cells to do the job....

Well if all the apps cant be cracked then I wouldnt buy the iphone anyway. However, now I have the iphone and though I jailed-break it sometimes I find myself purchasing the original apps online. Very smart people to let you jailbreak in order for you to purchase the phone and the apps.

Jake, 17 Jul 2011Jailbreaking is not news, Apple never intend to stop them. ... moreAgreed. As far as I see it, Apple 'officially' cannot support jailbreaking, but in reality, I have not seen any active part Apple has played to eliminate it. This, to me, means that Apple tolerates the existence, and is a form of acknowledgement on their part to the jailbreaking community.

Jake, 17 Jul 2011Jailbreaking is not news, Apple never intend to stop them. ... moreNo, people jailbreak because for one, People can't stand being locked down by Steve Jobs. Two, because without jailbreaking it, iOS is just not that good. Three, because the iPhone actually becomes somewhat useful when jailbroken. Thats a big Somewhat too.

Jake, 17 Jul 2011Jailbreaking is not news, Apple never intend to stop them. ... moreNo offense but if Apple wanted the iPhone to be more useful and better they wouldn't need to be jailbroken in the first place.
Their category is post-pc - that means they complement with your pc, or in other words Apple doesn't want to people to replace their overpriced Mac's with a smartphone.
FYI iPhone is not a smart phone.

If Apple messes this up while being the biggest tech player, history will repeat itself. Think old Microsoft.

The exploit is hardware one. That's why they can jailbreak all firmware versions.

well apple reli needs to focus on security. but actually jailbroken ipods have more beautiful themes and there are lots to choose from. i personally encourage those in charge of jailbreaking
