Benchmark shows one of the Huawei P20 models will have an 18.7:9 screen

Wide enough for a notch? It's wider than Samsung's 18.5:9, but not as wide as iPhone X's 19.5:9 screens.

AnonD-632062, 11 Jan 2018I think for Oreo, it was Sony with the XZ1 and not Huawei, ... moreI think why they credited Huawei is because their old flagship phone, mate 9 which is launched in Nov 2016 got the oreo update at Dec 2017, and also with treble support.
Sony old flagship phones does not support treble, just like the OnePlus devices.

Why do you say wide? Who keeps a phone that way on hand? It is narrower and actual screen area is smaller than 16:9 screens. I had once 16:10 screen and that was much better this sticks.

I think for Oreo, it was Sony with the XZ1 and not Huawei, who has been leading the non-Google pack. For Nougat, it was LG and it's V30. Both launched in August and had the latest Android even before the Pixels of their years had been launched...

If the notch is meant for that speaker/receiver and the camera is on the bottom bezel then I don't see a point for that other than more estate space to exclusively put notifications there.

if they really made a notch like iPhone X ... it's gonna be silly on how their CEO mocked the notch on Mate10 Pro keynote in CES :/
