Benchmark shows one of the Huawei P20 models will have an 18.7:9 screen

The Huawei P10 Plus and Mate 10 (vanilla) feature screens with QHD resolution, however an early sighting of the Huawei P20 suggests that the company is still not ready to fully commit to leaving 1080p behind.

An HTML compliance benchmark recorded the EML-AL00 – one of the P20 variants – will have 1,080 x 2,244px resolution. That is an aspect ratio of 18.7:9, slightly wider than Samsung’s but not as wide as iPhone X’s screen.

Note: the resolution reported 1/3rd of the actual resolution because of how mobile browsers work.

Web test shows one of the Huawei P20 models will have an 18.7:9 screen

This extra width leaves room for a notch though there’s no standardized way for websites to detect it yet (not great, if you ask us).

Anyway, the Huawei P20 model ran Android 8.0 Oreo for the test – no surprise here, Huawei has been leading the non-Google pack. Its older phones even have Project Treble.

Thanks for sending this in, Ilse!

Why'd you say that? I can't really see anything similar besides having a notch. But if that's what you mean, do not forget Essential - Apple - (and potentiality) Huawei.
