The concept seems excellent and the docking style is quite innovative, making full use of the phone's screen, speakers and fingerprint scanner. I had the Motorola Atrix, which had a lapdock and docking station, allowing you to make use of the phone on a similar fashion to an Ubuntu PC, it even had a cockup version of Firefox, sadly support is no longer available for it, however the accessories allow for other devices to take hold, such as the raspberry pi. Which is where the community may come in for the Razer Phone.

Phone with docking to another form usually fail. Moto atrix, asus padfone, or event microsoft continuum and samsung dex are not that successful as e pected. Maybe it will be success if the docking not cost that much

First guestion is the price.100 or 200$ ok, but if it is 400 500$ it will be a problem and second is the shape of the next phone of razer.Another shape another device?

Haven't we already witnessed this idea come and go for nothing?
What was that Motorola thing that promised this exact concept... but didn't?

Vegetaholic, 13 Jan 2018Am I only sees it as massive failure. After completely fail... moreI agree with you.
Considering these specs - I'd rather buy a tablet. Or real laptop if I want real power and performance.
Phones or tablets will never be as poweful as PC of same price.
And then... this might be good for some gamers... and I'm not a gamer, I literally never play any games. I could live without my PC, I would just buy a tablet and that's it. But if I was a power user, or gamer... I would want something better than this, and I could get plenty of better things for the price.

if I can use the Dock as Bigger screen for my phone, a big keyboard, option to add a controller or mouse, more storage space and still work with android no other SW is needed.
THAT'S A DREAM COME TRUE. SUPPORT WITH ALL MY SENSE

rcl4444, 12 Jan 2018At first glance I thought it was a bit pointless. However ... moreIt will never happen. Phones will never be more powerful than PC, you should say probably once phones will be as powerful as PC who can run desktop OS without lagging or struggling with multitasking when it would be possible to do it. Considering they already manage to run Windows 10 on SD 835, when it is not far away, but here come the problem. Do you really going to use your phone to replicate desktop environment when you can grab PC for lower price which will do same job much better?

Am I only sees it as massive failure. After completely failing to build gaming phone, they trying to push mobile gaming into laptop environment with... yes mobile chipset and mobile Android games who offer casual games and pay to win con pet everywhere compare to miles more advance PC platform or consoles, I mean do you really going to waste money for dock and razor phone, when for that price you will get powerful laptop and will play games like GTA 5 or witcher 3 on it? I thought so :))))

nice concept, but wish they used some other interface than the retractable usb-c port
should've been similar to moto's module port with usb 3+ speeds

I think it's a fun concept, but I'll agree with others in that in the end you are better with a separate laptop. Windows, Mac or Chromebook.
