Oreo for Samsung Galaxy S6 could be arriving soon

A Samsung customer rep has revealed the roll out time frame for the update: no later than February.

    AleonN, 16 Jan 2018Not much of a Samsung fan, but offering support for 3 Y O d... moreHonestly i dont think this is happening the only reason the s6 is in the list to get oreo is due to the fully exynos powered chip inside it and unlike qualcom whos kernal updates are only supported for two years the exynos chips are not bound by that limitation and can recieve oreo but if it does get the s7 should also get 3 years of support....but thats where the problem arises the s7 has a SND 820 varient which only supports 2 years of software updates meanwhile the exy8895 offers more....so it would be unfair for one varient to get oreo and the other not to....
    But lets hope im wrong here

      it is obvious the Oreo will slow down the S6 and make the battery life not use-able, so people will buy S9, SMART!

        in the entire discussion i could not find any confirmatory remarks from the Samsung team that S6 will receive oreo or not, they just mentioned Samsung will definitely release an update on which Samsung mobile the update will come. so don't keep your hope high.

          Not much of a Samsung fan, but offering support for 3 Y O devices is awesome.
          The other companies could copy that too but won't because profits ...

                I expect better quality articles from GSMArena.
                This article is based on a forum post from member that merely had a chat with Samsung CC.
                1. None of the messages in screenshot mention S6 for Oreo update explicitly in any message from CC.
                2. Legitimacy of these screenshots are questionable.

                Some of us visit GSMArena over Phonearena to avoid articles of this quality; I sincerely hope that GSMArena reviews the material being posted, and does no resort to clickbaits.

                  With such update for the S6, it'll most likely already have features that'll only be coming to stock Android in Android Q or later, making it even more future proof. Go Samsung, make it happen!

                    S7 and S7 edge still did not get it . S6 will get it probably next year .
