Bottom line: what Apple is doing now is either not entirely about design or it's just big man Jobs with his annual round of threats to attempt to scare others into submission. In the meantime (with the case running) you see Samsung launching their SGS2 all over the place, they clearly don't care much about these threats. None of the manufacturers will change their designs because of Apple. And they'd be crazy to ever do so. Apple didn't invent anything.

Form factor, specs, OS, all different. By his analogy all recent smartphones are 'Iphone clones'. Right. :)

hope lg release first the upgrade on the lg blackp970 and the optimus3d, they are the best lg phones out there and they are running in froyo. especially the black it has a very good screen the nova display i say its even better than the amoled .

Just go to LG store, and ask them i... morei own a lg optimus black and hey i didt bought the phone because it looks like a iphone 4 I bought it because of its NOVA DISPLAY! and mind you the nova display is amazing vivid and bright i love it , now you are talking about the keyboard sorry but you cannot charge lg of copying the keyboard of iphone ,and the design i dont see any see any similarity the home key the size of the lcd the THICKNESS ! Dude i dont know what your smoking right now but you better check your eyes man...

Well touchscreen with hardware keyboard since apple doesnt have one. The best example sony ericsson xperia pro. Now tell me if it still common touchscreen design? So since touchscreen means full touch screen phone and xperia pro is fulltouchscreen with extra hardware keyboard so i consider xperia pro as touchscreen phone that cannot be sued by copying or similarly design to anyphone in the market.

Somehow, they're currently being sued by Apple for patent infringement and already paying their penalty to Microsoft. It's like Apple doesn't want anyone else to make touchscreen smartphone besides them. If the HTC phones are being sued even though they looked different, then SE should be along the way too.
So, tell me other ways to design a touchscreen smartphone that doesn't infringe Apple's patents?

Oh please, just look at lg black keyboard it really seems to be a clone or so much similar to iphone keyboard. Now tell me, is that keyboard is excempted to ur stupid idea that how will you design touch screen phone? Well may i ask you this does all qwerty touch keyboard should design the same? In slide up era u said that all slide up are the same design common! Have u seen the se hazel? W995? Kita? Aino? W910? C905? Etc! They are all slide up from the same company but different design. Designing a touch screen which similar to other brand is indeed copy cat. Look se arc, x10 they are touchscreen ryt? Are they similar to iphone design? Open ur eyes do not buy any of those product from copycat manufacturers both from korea. Thumbs up to Se and htc for bringing up their own idea on how to design a phone with thei original concept.

for all you apple fan boys out there that has there apple head grown way to big.... if you will just do some research..... search the lg prada. its first appear 2006 and 2007 when apple introduce there iphone..... even the icons from lg prada is like being copied by iphone..... so pls don't get it to serious about the phone. these is just a phone... hello

There is a phone for everyone in LG's upcoming lineup, and its a good thing because not everyone is a geek. some people just want a mid level smartphone with decent specs. But I am interested in that 4.5 incher HD one ;-).

Back then, we have candy bars, sliders and flip phones, a lot of them have almost the same design with each other, but you don't see them suing each other. We never heard these, "ohh! that one copies Nokia, this one copies LG".
Those who always said that companies beside Apple needs their own design and innovation, please, pleaseee, try to stop bashing and do tell us what other way you can design a touchscreen phone. Anyone?
Btw, Macbook have the same form factor with other laptops in the world(rectangular, flip to open, with keyboard and a screen), so does that mean other manufacturers should sue Apple?
