Sony phones ARE pretty much nonexistent to the average consumer, at least here in Canada and the states. Nobody I talk to is even aware that Sony makes phones. This is called "proof from observation" aka empirical evidence, please educate yourself.

          Sony phones were a rarity and a specialty amongst the other mainstream phones. Their idiosyncratic hardware design language, glass backing, and waterproofing is what defined all their phones. It's sad to see them not profiting out of this smartphone industry. What is even sadder is the reason behind their low profit: the lack of recognition amongst consumers.

                      I think the 3 phones Sony showed at the CES event was nice midrange devices. And if they follow up that with a good flagship phone they will have a place in the smartphone market. Sony have been good with software updates to. Yes they are a small brand in phones compared to Samsung or Apple. But they sell a lot more than Essential for example.
                      In EU they are still a big brand sold by many carriers to.

Sony design the Touch can interact with up to 10 fingers and can projects on wall and table, it can enlarge the display dimension too.                             Actually that Xperia touch thing is nothing but an exceptionally over priced crap.
                            They were just trying to ride the money waive with it and for that reason it will probably fail.
                            At $1700 the only thing separating the projector itself from a 50-150 ish range is the short throw....which didnt add much more. 100 lumens at 720p???
                            You realize I could get a full fledged projector that has 4000 lumens and is 1080p native not scaled for $400. For $1000 you can get a quality name brand set that would have many happy and even be efficient in lit up environments.

                            But they want $1700 because it picks up gestures. And freezes or reboots when it gets bumped???????
                            That's absurd! Had they priced it around $600 it might have actually sold enough for them to make profits and feel succesful. Sure $1700 sounds nice. But when only a few people buy it and then it becomes obsolete, unsupported, and forgotten....What good was it except a colossal waste of time, money, and effort for all parties??

                              They could be more of leaders but they foolishly hold themselves back and then wonder why their mobile division doesnt always do so well.

Note FE is better option than this which cost RM 2199 = 558.35 USD. XA2 is RM 1299 = 329.83 USD and A8 is 456.78 USD.. Note FE is a better option than A8+.. in conclusion, don't buy latest midrange if the price is higher than last yeae flagship. Also our Ringgit is small compare to USD.

                                      SONY is all over the place. They have no direction and therefore no future. They don't know what they want to do. They pretty much put themselves out of the smartphone business becuz they refused to give us the phone we wanted. Now Apple and Samsung and Xioami have taken over the business. Hopefully, the next flagship coming in February will be the magic bullet for SONY, but most likely it's too late, no matter how good the phone is. There is still money to be made in smartphones, but SONY just doesn't listen to its customers, and won't make the phone we want. Their phones are over-priced and their warranty sucks because its only good in the country of purchase. They closed all their retail mall stores, and make way too many different phones. And what about fingerprint sensors in the USA, SONY. You need to fix that.

                                      When SONY decides to listen to their customers they may have a future. Until then, its only a matter of time till they are dead. There is no future in robot dogs....hello SONY. Wake up!
