Samsung patent says future selfie cameras may sit behind the screen

    note 9 or S10 will come with this. Samsung had this in mind and thats why they made fun of iphone's notch in those ads.
    Last picture shows the FPS also under the screen, so samsung might retain the FPS along with IRIS scanner/Face unlock.

      Using screen dimming during front camera usage to keep an active image visible is cool, but seems like overkill. Just turn off the lights on the top area during video calls or selfies. Seems easier and the picture quality would improve too.

          I always wonder why they havent done this till now. This is basically using Samsung transparent tv display and putting a camera behind it. Tadahh! All set up. Now, we have a camera behind the display.

This is same as fingerprint sensor hidden in the screen, people can't easy to use in low light scenarios because they can upside-down the phone without sense which will cause wrong press between fingerprint sensor or front camera sensor. That's why Sony design the fingerprint sensor and volume rocker and dedicated camera button at the right side of the phone to fit hand even in low light scenarios.

                              Yes!!It's about time,this is the solution for an all screen display.I have been wondering when this would come about since EVERY DAMN smartphone owner really needs to take selfies except for me,I could give a shit less.I just want more screen!

                                And go step further and create multiple cameras for better low light, natural eyes sight(not just top or to middle of phone but to place where are other user's eyes), and for 3D of course.
                                I can imagine they will out S10 as fully bezelless, benden on all sides(got to look awesome). Other besides samsung I heard only patent from apple with cameras behind/in screen, not sure if its usable as its old patent. Nothing heard from other brands, but first to use that tech may see quite increase in their sales.
