Couldn't care less what people say I love Sony phones. Love their smooth lag free UI and cameras have improved and their designs just nice in my opinion. Not a fan of curved fragile screens, looking at you Samsung. A screen with a large curve is just for show it's not needed, not practical

The XA2 Ultra is the nicest from them all but I have to say the top & bottom bezels are too big and the 221g, weight as well as the 9.5mm width are way overboard.
However I would consider this XA2 Ultra as a backup phone nevertheless.

These phones are well made, Sony knows how to make good hardware. And the design is classic Sony, elegant !
But people complaining about bezels are funny. The XA2 has about the same screen to bdy ratio than an A8 and the Ultra has a better screen to body ratio than the A8/A8+. But because it is branded Infinity Display they all fall in love with the "bezel less" design design of the A8/A8+.

I just bought the red XZ Premium and now I want to buy the XA2 Ultra too!
I never thought I'd be so interested in a mid-range phone.
Sony rocks!

Anonymous, 21 Jan 2018The FCC ID of the next Premium was found.
There is no hea... moreThere is still no exact evidence of no dedicated jack there.
Just evidence of one nonsens single usb interface dongle for charge and headphones.
I still hope new flag will have 3.5 mm jack or extra USB C for headphone.
If indeed that single USB is only headphone interface, I hope to see some wireless charge (through nfc?) and appropriate charger included in the box.
If not, and leaked info proves indeed to be just nonsens trend following, aint going with Sony flags no more...

Vegetaholic, 21 Jan 2018So brilliant that Sony all the time in the redQ1 was blue, Q2 was red..
Last year was 32 million dollars blue.
Except Apple, Samsung and Sony all.other lost money last year.

There is no hea... moreI hope so tho . They usually have a smart solution on opening an SIM Tray and SD Card slot tray by not using any additional compartment parts.
BTW , can you give me a proof of their next Premium lineup removing the ill-fated 3.5mm jack on FCC id ? I'm concern Sony doing that with the trend .... These maybe the affects of new designs such as Antenna Line Design and curvier design earlier (hinted and first introduced with XZ1 and matured at L2 , XA2 and XA2U) . Unless there's a changed of heart or last-minute changed that proof Sony repositioning the headphone jack to the bottom like most OEM except HMD's Nokia , Motorola , etc.

Anonymous, 21 Jan 2018nooo. this phone looks ugly with stupid lcdSony Xperia display isn't your typical LCD found in some others OEM's LCD . It's rather more-advanced and better Quantum Dots technology since their Xperia Z2 and their trademarked name as "Triluminous Display" . Quantum Dot is mixed between LCD display with LED-Backlight to prodcuced much better color and brightness and other advantages of QD (current the best solution of LCD and LED problems , as they mixed both LED and LCD strongest parts) . If you want Sony Xperia with OLED display ,wait MWC 2018 or IFA 2018 as there's a strong chance Sony will exhibited their first OLED phones on their almost-a-decade-old Xperia .

There is no headphone jack.
The sim/sd card tray was moved to where the jack usually is. I just hope it does not need the stupid tool to access it like Apple started with and all other copied.

Tann Hauser, 21 Jan 2018Im all in with Xperia midrangers if rumors about loosing th... moreThese what Sony CEO , Kazuo Hirai said and stated about trends of removing 3.5mm headphone started with Apple iPhone 7 last year with these proves :
https://www.androidauthority.com/sony-keeping-3-5-mm-headphone-jack-port-740924/
https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/science-technology/754494/Apple-iPhone-7-Sony-boss-Kazuo-Hirai-Xperia-headphone-port
I highly doubted that Sony would removed the headphone jack earlier than BBK (1+ , Oppo and Vivo) , Samsung and LG aswell other companies that hasn't ditched headphone jack on their flagships yet , as they produced both wireless and wired high-end quality headphones for multimedia since the start days of Walkman , listened to their fans wanted they want both indirectly-directly and their most fans want Sony to keep 3.5mm jack alive on their phones and mostly their products , and Sony sometimes was the last company to follow a trend as they planned it systematic and matured until its a pass .

I have been using Xperia l since August 2013. Still working fine ,occasional lags but phone hardware is solid. Only problem is low memory thinking of upgrading to Xperia Xa2 in future... But i still love it...Sony phones are masterpiece...
