Onyxia, 22 Jan 2018Vivo's X20 + UD would be like a test subject for other manu... moreWho are these top dog manufacturers that are so much more capable than vivo who so happens to be a top 5 or 6 manufacturer in the whole wide world. Vivo manufactures more phones than Sony and HTC combined.

Trust me, the under-display FPS from the 'top-dogs' manufacturers would be much better

GSMArena should've done a hands-on video demonstrating the under display fingerprint sensor in action rather than posting a bunch of photos which didn't demonstrate it in action. Anyways, the date is pretty close. I remember using a fake lockscreen app on the Symbian running Nokia N8 which would mimic an under display fingerprint sensor and here we are, this is real. Everyone expected the top dogs to implement this first but it's Vivo man, thanks to Synaptics. I still think ultrasonic fingerprint sensors being implemented on the side for a minimalistic design approach is much better in case if underdisplay fingerprint sensor raises the price for display repairs.
