I am just waiting for an update of the camera on Nokia 8. Lately two of my friends skipped to buy Nokia 8 and bought Samsung S8 instead. All because of the quality of the camera..... I think this is a real downside of Nokia, they MUST fix this issue!!

Love the Community, 23 Jan 2018I hope the final Android 8.1 update adds a new camera algor... moreBecause camera performance is similar to processor performance; it depends on BOTH hardware and software.
Case in point, the Pixel 2 which has a great camera hardware BUT it is NOT the best camera hardware in the wild. There are plenty of better phones with better camera modules. However, Google has tweaked the camera properly and so it performs very very well.
What I observed in the past in terms of camera drivers/performance:
#1 - Apple (their camera's perform great but are one of the cheapest/weakest out there)
#2 - Google (they've improved greatly with the Nexus 5X/Pixel/Pixel2)
#3 - Samsung (always a consistent player)
#4 - LG (just edged out Huawei with their V20/G6/V30 victories)
#5 - Huawei (always been meh, but massive improvements lately with new Leica units)
#6 - HTC and Moto (pretty poor performers for the high-end)
#7 - Sony (best hardware, only okay results, bad implementation)
^Just a general trend, as with all trends; it is likely to shift with the times.

Love the Community, 23 Jan 2018I hope the final Android 8.1 update adds a new camera algor... moreBecause Nokia have limited their camera. Just like they did at first with the old n8 :-/

I hope the final Android 8.1 update adds a new camera algorithm for their cameras. How come LG G6 with the same IMX258 gets 84(?) while the Nokia 8 gets 66?

Shame on Samsung's 1000$ phone. They are busy with making other mid range phones . How come with such backdated software they claim note 8 or s8 as flagship? Sooner they will loose customer .
Please idiot Samsung fans don't make comment like Samsung's android 7 is better than Oreo -
