I've had my S8 for over a year now and problem free. I don't need to restart it nearly as much as any previous phone I've had (from all brands -except Apple{yuck}). I keep it clean and disabled pre installed apps that I will never use (anything facebook related, spotify, Rogers NHL.... with a few more) and I have not even a hiccup.
I did just run into an issue where I couldn't transfer files between the S8 and my pc but that was due to a cheap usb cable.
I came from a Note 4 to an S8 and eagerly await new designs and ideas from all brands.

I even skipped iphone x for S9 but seems like they are gonna make a big mistake this time but not doing anything great except the camera and making your smaller S9 less worthy.

It seems that Samsung is seriously updating camera this year, unlike the previous update from S7 to S8.

Ive owned the s8 for close to a year now and its still going like a champ
Sure its not lag free by any means and battery life is pretty average
BUT
I never had a problem of my phone hanging on me not even once maybe its cause i make sure my storage has atleast 25% free all the time make sure cache gets cleared twice a week and it works off i see al these people complaining about lags and freezes but ive never had the issue
I have the exynos 8895 galaxy S8 running And 7.0 with Samsung exp 8.0 and december sec update

But yes i agree this is a step in the right direction if they nail this itll push others to move faster innovating faster rate
Samsung never does it first but they are some time what sparks the trends they do these types of weird things that noone else wants to do and alot of times it pays off say what you want about the edge panel but it gives the s and n series a look barely found in any other phone
And tbh variable aperature > dual camera

Google is a software giant and serves android to every other OEMs out there except apple.
Apple came with iOS and you know very well, they ask you to pay for everything in iOS.
From games to songs to movies to everything.
There is no freedom in iOS.
The only thing is apple is better than android (a few seconds faster LOL.) in speed and nothing else.

I own S7 and it was amazing example how Samsung fixed nearly all issues with S6 in next gen. device. S8 didn't impressed me at all, but if they fix all issues from it and S9 will be as good as S7.... I might go for it!

Will be grest update for anyone with S7 or lower. For S8 users nothing special, definitely best to wait for S10 anniversary one and expect best, maybe even bendable one :)

Anonymous, 25 Jan 2018That happens on all phones and computers. Touchwiz does not... moreYes it does. I went to a shop few months ago to test the J7. One minute in and i got a pop-up "Play store has stopped working" (I didn't even try to open it). I have NEVER seen this message on my phones. I've only seen it on a Lenovo, which is one of the crappiest smartphone brands ever.

Anonymous, 25 Jan 2018It's not the bloatware. It's just unstable - like hangs and... moreMy friends Note 8 is so smooth and not laggy at all. The UI is fastly more optimized. The funny thing is he shows me a simple game and when he finish it, the phone suddenly not responding and then crashed. He even mention its the only game that can cause it, not even Real Racing 3 and ROS manage to do that.
Bottom Line: try to figure out the apps, dont always blame the software.
