Why should I buy Mi Note 5 when I have Mi Note 4? Because of 6 inch 18:9 display.

The 630 is an overclocked 625. You're getting 200MHz extra on 4 A53 cores which does nothing useful.
The 636 has 4xA73 cores which will give you a good processing speed when loading apps, switching apps etc. And the other 4 A53 cores will be used for light tasks like reading gsmarena. We need the power as and when required. A53 doesn't have any power at all.
I can't wait for phone manufacturers to start using the new Snapdragon 640 with the A55 and A75 cores. There's more power in the A75 and with the new DynamIQ cluster, all cores are in the same cluster, and you can use an uneven combination like 4xA75 cores and 2xA55 cores or 8xA75 cores and 3xA55 cores. That's what's good about the new DynamIQ cluster.
So with this Snapdragon 636, Xiaomi is doing something good with the Redmi note 5. The 660 was a lot, so the 636 is good enough. I hope they use the Snapdragon 640 or if possible, the 670 for the redmi note 6.

But on other hand you can say they are not following in the trend of 18:9 ratio also the dual camera.

If we look at Redmi Note 4, Mi Max 2 and Mi A1 all has same chipset Snapdragon 625 and if we look at Redmi Note 3 and Mi Max first generation both also has a same chipset Snapdragon 650 except for Mi Max Prime Snapdragon 652.

But I know people do care about higher CPU scores, yeah.

It's not like Nokia have better camera even. They had good cameras back in the day with 808 and 1020 But now they are just like any other. Even the new 2018 version of Nokia 6 will have older SD630 in it.
