Only Pixels and Nexus, aka Google -made phones, everyone else is behind both Nokia and Google.
Also, which company updates their sub 200 USD phones before Nokia, and provides constant monthly security updates to ever single model?

First thing always do when doing "Major Firmware Upgrade", 1. Backup Important Files to SD Card/PC 2. Full Wipe/Reset 3. Update to latest Android 8 4. Restore backuped files 5. Enjoy bug free OS.

because they still have to wait for chip manufacturer to ship their chipset driver update. only then they can try to build their own update for android. etc... thus googles project treble to reduce that dependency. unfortunately this is only possible if, and only if the hardware is treble rdy
