iPhone SE 2 isn't coming or won't be radically different, analyst says

The much-rumored successor to the original SE from 2016 may not arrive this year after all.

The SE does not have to be cutting edge (that's what the bigger phones do); it just has to be cheaper, and just be a 5/5s with new but proven components. Nothing wrong with that, really. If anything, this item best carries the "it just works" philosophy that people are looking for in Apple things, not that iPhone X weirdness.

      I still use my 5S and works perfectly fine! That is my daily driver totally gets the job done on emails and texts and also the apps work fluidly.

        I would be more than happy to see SE2 with A11, 3g ram, camera from the 8 with OIS, and improved selfie. $399 is quite right:)

          Apple's logic: our 4 inch smartphones have been selling like hotcakes and a lot of people actually like the SE... So let's go ahead and not make a successor and focus on the less popular models that take too much of our resources. The X is a flop for their standards to be honest. The 8 plus is a much better deal.

              The small iPhone SE is the favorite phone for spoiled kids! Kids have small hands and small pockets, so they do not want big phones!

                It's such a waste of a design if apple decides to discontinue this phone. This is the phone design that single handedly defined the smartphone industry.
