wooty, 07 Feb 2018Read pal. Read to gain knowledge. Stop writing like you're ... moreSo to have good grammar is to be something? I guess I'm a genius then.
All you have been doing is belittling people and calling names. I'm trying to combat you and those false assumptions you gave. If you're not offended, maybe you wouldn't have replied to me this much. You should just cease to reply to any news or comments on this forum since you violated rules of respect and name-calling more than 20 times already.
As for the patch, you know that every somewhat recent phone gets that 1-2018 patch, right? You know why? I guess not! It's Meltdown and Spectre.

okcnaline, 07 Feb 2018Rebuke? Much of my replies to your comments are rebukes. Yo... moreRead pal. Read to gain knowledge. Stop writing like you're something please... It makes me cringe you have nothing else to poke on come back with something better to waste my time. Anyway this would be a last message I will ever note down to you. I feel obscene seriously.
Your earlier pathetic assertion (If calculation is correct, the Galaxy S4 was updated for 2 years) Hey Mr Smart, do you know other than providing major android update, there is a minor update for Android as well and its called 'Security Patch' which provide fixes for possible issues affecting devices running Android? So which phrase did I wrongfully disclosed? S4 was launched 5 years ago is still getting security patches from Sammy and imagine an iPhone 5s is still getting a proper support from Apple btw what did Sony gave you in return? Ops its not you! You're receiving dropsy from Sony still! What I mean is Z2, Z3 and Z5 families? Any patches? Anyone?
Do you really think I feel offended now? You talk without knowing anything about me and actual facts, yet you don't have anything else to say because you have no better arguments applause you can't even research something that would've take 5 seconds and apparently talking to a wall would be smarter than talking to you!

wooty, 07 Feb 2018No one ever asked you to reply to my comment. Once you did ... moreRebuke? Much of my replies to your comments are rebukes. You are simply abusing the definition of the word to include ad hominem attacks. Sure, you may be "rebuking" me, per se. The first definition that comes up on the internet about the noun "rebuke" is the expression of sharp criticism due to behavior or actions. Did that definition include personal attacks? Do personal attacks account for sharpness in criticism? Per rules, your "rebuke" would be defined as trolling and foul language.
If Samsung isn't on your list, who is? Your comments have shown a tone of favoritism towards Samsung and a hatred towards Sony. Your comments include "OMG Samsung S6+ gets an update ... Z5 users are still stuck on ..." In other words, you have demonstrated brand loyalty towards Samsung.
As for updates, if you haven't realized, it's still 2 years for Samsung phones. Quick example: Samsung Galaxy S4 was launched with Android 4.2 and ended support at 5.0.1. 4.2 launched November 2012 and 5.0.1 2014. If calculation is correct, the Galaxy S4 was updated for 2 years. Also, I understand that you do not remember the scandal about discontinued support for Snapdragon S4 Pro SoCs which prevented a few phones from 2013 from updating their phones to Android 6.0.

okcnaline, 06 Feb 2018Oh, shut up. Let's see... 2/7 sentences used to insult me. ... moreNo one ever asked you to reply to my comment. Once you did it, I got every right to rebuke you. See who looks more petty now? Moreover Samsung definitely is not on my list. You may insult or humiliate that company as you pleased. But keep in mind that when it comes to update, Apple and Sammy have a better reputation than Sony's. At least they provide updates for an older flagship even it reached the EOL cycle. Too bad Sony isn't - FULL STOP! - Read the title!

Yeah, you know where the rest of the Android usage by Samsung phones come from? Any imaginations? No? Here goes: S7, S6, S5, A7, A5, J7, J5, J3, even older and worse phones.
And trimmed off of whose expectations, your expectations or mine? Because I actually like Sony phones the way they are. 16:9, decently durable, rectangular, extremely potent software, and 4.7".
I ain't a servant. If I'm a servant, I won't talk in correct grammar and in an intelligent method. It's just that you are petty.

Did I hear something about new v... moreOh really? 6.9 billion people who wouldn't buy the flashiest Galaxy S8 and yet they are still the android leader after Google! Guess you're one of the remaining 0.02% of Sony supporter still. Clearly that was a huge mistake and you can't escape the fact that Sony get trimmed full year expectations once again and again I suppose. Well I always want to prove people wrong and you may do exactly the same thing. But once again talks are cheap, I hate lackeys seriously. Matter of fact there is no point of talking crab here. Show me more or less on how are Sony going to beat Sammy's s when it comes to quota of sales!

New this, new that. Is that all the arguments you can think of? In this case you don't belong in this world of ~6.9 billion people who wouldn't buy the flashiest Galaxy S8 to show off.

Funny.
Was not that so?
And that's no big deal, knowing that Google Pixels will get Android updates for 3 years.
Sony is not doing anything different than other OEMs.
I did not understand the reason for extolling this detail, which is nothing special.

Some of the phones on the patch list shouldn't be there (Xperia XA1 Ultra and Xperia L2 for example), it doesn't make any sense as these phones use Cortex A53 cores and are completely immune to spectre and meltdown, mistake?
