And finally, release has been getting closer for months now, yet it's still not here, and it's not too close either. This is of course not a dealbreaker, and S9 will come with latest OS out of the box, which is indeed really nice.

And leaps and bounds better than an iphone.

And follow official news about the update instead of listen to a bunch of people whine and make claims. Funny you say this when the release is so much closer now too. Your post is not even logical.

By the look of your comment is clearly visible who is a kid here.
And Sony power is in what? In lack of features? Sudden deaths? Bad camera? Box like design which simply stays the same all the time? Phones lacking features, design and quality, but not lacking really high price? I'd honestly much rather buy an iPhone than Sony, price difference isn't huge, it has better support, better camera, design... and I won't even talk about processing speed.

Everyone talking about the update - yet, we haven't seen the update. The date just keeps gettind delayed, and all this is getting annoying.
I pretty much don't care about updates, but since last update I had in my country was November security patch - the Android P might be out before I see the Oreo... LOL
Updates don't mean a lot to me, as long as everything is running as it should I'm OK, but Samsung is really late this time, and to some people updates do matter greatly. The most annoying is that I'll have to back up my data just in case, have device with over 50% of battery and on and on and on... and update just isn't coming even though everyone talks about it all the time. Like when you need to go out with your GF and you are waiting on the couch while she is still getting ready, and keeps telling you "5 more minutes honey" for half an hour.
And yes, I have unlocked device.

AnonD-449924, 02 Feb 2018The best for lag lol 😂 I have owned many top of the line Sa... moreThe only kid thing here is your immature and misinformed comment.
All phones and tech lag some. All. Including Samsung, htc, lg, sony, apple, windows pc, mac os. All of it.
And samsung doesn't alot. Especially talking s7 and note8.
And who cares if a couple things take a fraction of second longer to finish "only sometimes" when the ui, features, display, and such are all far superior to the rest? And seriously we are talking splitting hairs here. Minute differences of speed. Not even close to lag.
Grow up.
And Sony? You mean with their never-ending sudden death issue from at least as far back to the Z...as in Z, Z1, And on. And possibly up to the xzp even. And every model inbetween like T, Aqua, And all that.
Which can last a few minutes up to weeks of trying and trying to fix until you realize it's no longer simple and needs hardware checked.
Only to then find out after being transferred from sony because they won't do a single thing for an out of warranty device.
Legit. You cannot even pay them. Noir even outrageous prices or anything to fix a phone from the day its out if warranty.
So you get transferred to some random place that you were told helps with repairs. Only to find out they don't and they only sell parts but not to the phones either.
To get transferred back to Sony to be told you have to look on Amazon or other places for whatever parts your device needs. And hope they have those parts, those are the parts you actually need, and that you can install without screwing everything up.
All for something that is a wide spread and overly excessive manufacture defect.
Display repairs are about the best you can get from places.
But motherboard repairs or issues. Ha!
I Love their phones and tech. And they are finally improving again. But until I can sit here and say in a year from now that it doesn't happen anymore i cannot and will not buy another Sony phone. And i will warn everyone against it until i see that things have changed.
And yes this is 100% factual, really happened to me and millions of others. And your fake type of Sony eccentric people can cry and deny all you want. But its the truth and it's terrible. How such a horrible issue can go on for so many years is beyond me.

Anonymous, 02 Feb 2018Fed up with note 8 ... So called premium phone - no timely ... moreTheir support needs to improve for sure
But your view is close minded and bogus. Sadly is the same as most.
While they need to speed up releases a bit yippy and everyone are over looking important variables to such situations.
For one thing Oreo for the note 8 is coming very soon.
Next is whether it's on Oreo or nougat still the software on it is the most advanced there is. It runs very well with few issues for most and is already an updated and more optimized ui version of touchwiz even from the s8.
There is more to software than just being on the latest number for crying out loud.
Especially when talking Samsung. Their ui is already moore advanced in most aspects. And when it comes to updating that it also means there are more things to update than other devices. More bug checking needed.
And they have more devices to release for.
And making sure it's ready for release and well optimized is better than getting it out as fast as possible.
iOS users have been learning all of the the hard way for a few years now. Which really makes me think apples software team is just sitting around all year till lady second then desperately getting out rapid beta updates as quick as possible.
