Apple will have another 2 or 3 great year it will outperform most companies. it will go downhill in the same rate too sooner or later. nothing lasts forever (just like Sony and NOKIA), u go up the ladder, something comes up u have to come down. who knows.....

Anonymous, 30 Jul 2011A. Speak english. B. iPhone "5" has the least ... moreIphone 5 only has two new features which are airplay and face detection and larger display probably 4". it is not worth the upgrade for ppl who are normal. for fanatics it is a whole new world.

the reason Samsung is doing well is because it quickly adopts new technology unlike Nokia and SE whose phones gets out of date as soon as they are launched because they both like to announce or leak their new phones but they are too lazy in launching them.

Android and its vendors don't know how to innovate beyond finding new ways of copying their competitors : Microsoft, Apple, RIM, HP, and Nokia.

Nokia has a sense of individuality, like what HP and Blackberry are doing.

Its so nice having Apple, Nokia, Blackberry, Hp, etc to offer different OS to us people. Its OK to compare because that's what COMPETITION is all about.

Imagine the world being ALL-ANDROID Environment. It's uncool.

Competition makes manufacturers' innovative ideas running. So stop bashing NOKIA because all of us have ups and downs in our journeys.

Remember ... Being alone ON THE TOP is LONELY

AnonD-616, 30 Jul 2011google says we tried to get nokia :-) huh huh . just wait ... moreSigh, and you do realize Google is a company that is competing for market share right? Do you believe Google cares about which brand they're putting their OS on? They allow ZTE and Huawei to use their os, more brands using their OS = higher market share for them which brings in revenue from people using their search engine.

So again, if they "really" wanted Nokia to use Android OS, why would they not agree to modifications Nokia wanted? Because they are already in a position that yeah, if Nokia uses Android, then it will help them, if Nokia doesn't want to, guess what? won't hurt them at all, this is evident by the fact that Nokia is not the #1 smart phone seller, producer, manufacturer anymore, and the fact that Symbian and Windows Phone 7 marketshare combined is still not higher than Android's.

AnonD-1124, 30 Jul 2011Lmao. Google refused nokia? lol Nokia rejected android b... moreWRONG BUDDY,

Nokia tried to negotiate with Google before they even ever considered Windows Phone 7. Eric Schmidt refused to give Nokia any advantages by allowing Nokia to modify Android such as replacing Google Maps with Nokia Maps.

"he tried to negotiate a deal with Google to run Android, but Google refused to give the world's biggest phonemaker any advantages over its smaller partners."

                            http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/11_24/b4232056703101.htm

So yes, in essence Nokia was denied by Google. They were denied any modifications asides from UI. From the various lawsuits? You're an idiot, the lawsuits are cause of patents owned by MS and Oracle, however Oracle's case seems to be breaking apart due to many reasons. Microsoft's case is the fact that they are a software giant with decades in the business so they will hold many patents on things such as hyperlinking in an email, etc. Also remember that their patents are not actually contended yet, meaning they might not even be valid due to prior art, however most companies Microsoft are going after such as HTC, Samsung etc have calculated that it cost them more to fight Microsoft than it would to just simply agree and have a cross licensing agreement.

A similar case to this would be Nokia and Apple. Nokia initially wanted to get apple into an agreement that would allow Nokia cross licensing privileges to Apple owned patents such as multi-touch, however Apple would rather just pay Nokia royalty fees because its cheaper for them to keep one less competitor from accessing said technology.

So once again, you're an idiot and your fanboyism is showing. Nokia is in a world of hurt, they lost all credibility, this is evident by their declining stock prices, market share, profitability, revenue, etc, but I'm pretty sure you still believe NOkia is tops right?

LOL so now NOkia is making a new OS? You're hilarious. This new OS is suppose to be competitive with Android and iOS correct? Wasn't that Symbian^3/4? Look where that ended, then MeeGo was the next messiah to save Nokia right? Look where that ended too, now the next savior is Windows Phone 7, oh wait they have horrible market share and sales are sucks. So now Nokia supposedly is making a new OS? You're so oblivious its hilarious.

Nokia rejected android because of competition and numerous lawsuits. Google literally begged nokia to use android and they refused.

I believe nokia is working on their own os for the future. The so called 'next disruption'. It would pick up somewhere from maemo branching off meego and featuring the n9 ui. Nokia's ceo stated that they intend to continue with the ui advancements in the n9 in future products.

Google didn't refuse Nokia the chance to use android, but refuse the modification of android proposed by Nokia. Thats how the deal broke down.

                                    I quote from:

                                    http://www.myoccupiedterritory.net/2011/02/google-hopes-nokia-will-choose-android/

"On Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, on an interview after the keynote speech, Schmidt said: “I hope that at some point in the future, Nokia would be willing to re-select the Android.”

Google is more than willing to let Nokia use Android. Thus, please dismiss the rumours regarding google disallowing Nokia to use android. Android is open source, there is no such thing as disallowing others to use a open source code.

The biggest problem with nokia is that the features on their phones, however great, do not come to much use for the common man. Not everyone needs usb otg, worldwide 3g coverage, a video stabilizer when hd videos practically eat up memory, an fm transmitter, near field communication, among others. Sure, i like having those features on my phone, but most don't care. Nokia needs to fix its browser issues, should overclock the processor to 772 mhz (since the arm11 used in s^3 phones are downclocked from 772 to 680) and maybe update the screen resolution if possible.
