paco2x, 05 Feb 2018Do you know that more MP won't make your s***ty selfies any... moreFront cam of U11, XZP and XA1 Ultra do better photos and videos than Note 8, Iphone X.

8 is too low, that is why flagships no longer use 8MP for rear camera.
Also high resolution gives you more info, better for edition.

Stan, 05 Feb 2018I think you've got it backwards. LCD tech has been around ... moreXZ Premium has 138% sRGB. Almost same value of S8 ( 142%.).
It is higher than many phone with oled.

Xzs successor is told to have 148% according to specs leaked last year.

Color gamut of oled is not that much superior than lcd.

LCD used by Motorola, Huawei, Apple and LG are lower quality than Sony's.

LCD and "little" bezel may not be not the best start, but thats not all there is to a phone.

Stan, 05 Feb 2018I think you've got it backwards. LCD tech has been around ... moreThanks for the tech info I cant agree more! But still as simple consumer with all this tech I just need something that works for me! And so far the Lcd tech is still used by most top manufacturers like, Sony, HTC, Apple and Huawei and they just work fine! As I stated earlier Lcd has improved so much now they can achieve deep blacks almost just as Amoleds although they still can't beat amoled on the deep blacks. So i guess it also boils down to someone's preference, as for me I don't like the over saturation and unrealistic colors of amoleds. I just prefer seeing real representation of accurate colors, but to many people they like the pop of Amoled screens so as I said it's subjective. Just pick your medicine and be satisfied with it!

AnonD-145316, 05 Feb 2018Not all flagship phones will just be using amoled, actually... moreI think you've got it backwards.
LCD tech has been around since the 80s. There's not much more you can do to improve it. The main drawback of LCD, is the comparably high power requirement. That's primarily associated with the need of the backlight to light up the entire area behind the screen. That could be partially mitigated by using the LED backlight array. Still, even in that scenario, individual LEDs have to run at full power. Now for the screen itself - in order for it to produce black color, it actually has to use power to align crystals to block the light, so if a color is almost black - you have a cell that's running at nearly full power, and either a backlight, or LED backlight cell that's also running at full power. Think of it as 150%+ of power being used per pixel vs pure white or pure black.
OLED consumes way less power and is much easier to control. What you have is an RGB or RGBW LED Array, and brightness is controlled by a direct application of power. Black = power off, while white means full power (100%).
OLED also has a much wider color gamut.
The only issue in OLED, and that is primarily due to the chosen design, is if the pixel well is too deep, your high angle of view color reproduction suffers.
Ever since the first Galaxy S, OLED has also been consistently better in bright sunlight vs LCD counterparts.

AnonD-145316, 05 Feb 2018I guess you live in planet Mars! Speed is the last thing that you'll notice, probably experience while browsing will stay the same, but your whole phone experience will get better, no connection glitches, longer battery life...

I suppose everybody talks about speed as this is the only thing that is really measurable :)
