05 February 2018
It's apparently Broadcom's "best and final" offer for the chip-making giant.

It's very curious how does Broadcomm have such money? Intuitively it feels like Qualcomm is a much bigger company than them.

Basically you're saying the oneplus 5T is the slowest of them bunch which isn't true. It's still kinf of android and will be again with the newest SD845 on the onepus 6

AnonD-510098, 06 Feb 2018Qualcomm is dying, their chips are getting worse each year.... moredying? samsung only uses exynos in europe while in the US every samsung has a qualcomm chip. Every other brand OPPO, Oneplus, Xiaomi, LG, Sony, HTC, samsung, Google Pixel, Asus, Lenovo, Nokia, etc... use qualcomm (snapdragon) ships.
Dying? it's the most used chips in the world.
Even apple used their modem ships.
And keep in mind, Mediatek still has a total of 18% of global marketshare alongside Apple which is on their 20%
Samsung and Hisilicon combined only have total of 16% market share(exynos and Kirin).
The rest is all qualcomm, qualcomm is in almost every mid-range to flagship device everywhere in the world with a few exceptions.
Where are your facts? You don't present facts. you bash without even knowing a dam thing. Do your homework before posting bullsh!t

LG superfan, 06 Feb 2018Worst then mediatek? Can it get any worst?"worse" not Worst. (worst is the mix of Worse (which basically means more bad in a single word) and most. (the extreme of something)
and yes. when it comes to the compilers of Broadcom's CPUs the rules are very strict for the compilers. and yes. it's worse than Mediatek as atleast you got a selection of CPUs to choose from. (40 different SoCs. 14 of them are tablet relevant) even though MT is quite CSP (Closed Source Processor) compared to Qualcomm and Exynos that are more OSP (Open Source Processor) in Broadcom you've got just 6 CPUs. but myriads of connectivity for internet and stuff.

Interesting what it will be the final outcome, etc.

Qualcomm is dying, their chips are getting worse each year.

The top 3 biggest mobile manufacturers (Samsung, Apple, Huawei) all use their own chips because Qualcomm isnt good enough.

LG is dying and HTC and Sony are already RIP. They only have Xiaomi (who are building their own surge chipsets) and OnePlus as their best customers.

The Apple A10, Exynos and Kirin 970 are all better than the 835. Qualcomm are only providing small upgrades

Surprisingly broadcom actually owns majority of the needs for smartphones...exvept the parts they sell are cheap...but if Qualcomm agrees with this...5G will be closer than ever and smartphone companies would just go to one company to receive majority of the goods needed
