I can understand the ban, as people will always continue to use their phones even though they have been told of the dangers. Whether they should fine people for using their phones while parked I think is excessive, but let's face it, would laws like this come into effect if it weren't an issue? If people weren't doing the wrong things all of the time then there would be no need for laws such as this to come into play.

Where I live you're not even allowed to touch a phone whilst operating a motor vehicle (unless it's docked. Pretty stupid if you ask me). Police will fine you $450 if they catch you. Revenue raising or safety? Bit of both I think

      Where is its frontal camera?
If the picture is real, I don't think it has one.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2018I don't get it If someone parked or pulled over so he won... moreMy thoughts exactly.
What risk is a driver who pulls over, stops the engine and then proceeds to make a phone call or send messages to himself or other road users?

Somehow this strikes me as a law made by people who hardly ever get behind the wheel themselves.
Such a law will never work in my country!

nkwama, 07 Feb 2018Is Android Auto compatible with all of the Android devices ... moreIf your phone can run apps from the play store, like any Android Smartphone, shouldn't have any issue grabbing Android Auto via the Play Store or sideloading the APK if it's not showing up in your region. Nothing about Android Auto is region dependent since I last used it...

Mikey, 07 Feb 2018Simple simple solution... The phone has a GPS, so USE it... morethat's good up to an extent Mike, it's marvelous when it comes to driver. but what about the passengers? they are not driving. so they don't have to be focused in driving. (perhaps guidance. but not neccesarily) they CAN use the phone. and in the train you're not driving. so you can text freely.

at, 07 Feb 2018what's about passengers in a car or train? they don't have ... morethey do. but the case here is a DRIVER. not the passenger.

vrvly, 07 Feb 2018I mean texting when you already stay still. Based on what I... moreNope. just google what happens a lot can happen
When standing still in the side of the road, other drivers can accidentally bump into your car. you can't know what status are they. so don't trust. and as we know. cars aren't made from elastic material. that bump is damage. and inside that car there are people. that can get injured.

at, 07 Feb 2018what's about passengers in a car or train? they don't have ... moreWell, current technology can allow a phone to know if you are using your body to move. For everything else, you have fines.

                              Simple simple solution...

The phone has a GPS, so USE it. If the phone is moving above a certain speed (a brisk walk) texting and other possibly distracting features are LOCKED. Seriously look at the clown at the Mall of America who was recorded walking right into a fountain while texting... WALKING not even driving.

France should be prohibited...from driving at all. this is nothing but farce. absolute stupidity.
