The Nokia 500 is Nokia's first 1GHz Symbian smartphone

01 August, 2011
Nokia continues its Symbian push with its latest Nokia 500. It's quite like the C5-03 but with a 1GHz flare.

      Being completely and absolutely disorganized.

We are calling it Ovi, no, we'll call it Nokia, no it's Ovi again, no Nokia...

N series, no no 500 series, no letter series again.

            You know what amazes me?

How are there still people defending Nokia? They must be Nokia employees.

            I mean seriously...

            Not adapting
            Misleading lying commercials
            Outdated old and tired Symbian
            Releasing defective phones
            Overpricing their phones
Not giving customers who bought the phones any updates.
Still the same old business plan of releasing a phone and forgetting about it... to release a different phone and except customers to buy them to get the update.
Polluting the world and being very wasteful with excessive plastic and materials... There is no need to release so many models anymore, Nokia does not understand this.
Instead of releasing one perfect top phone every year, releasing 5 and splitting features between them, confusing customers.

Nokia is simply a dinosaur and it amazes me that there are still people that support them after Nokia completely, absolutely does not care about their customers.

I have owned 1 (yes, I said 1, and just 1)Nokia phone and I think they are rubbish.
Never again will I buy one after having owned a N97.
Well, for me they are far better and far more interesting than Lgs and even those hateful Samsungs but they can't match my old Siemens (yes, I know the 2 companies now work together but I preferred the old Siemens, back in the days), my beloved Sony Ericsson or even those good Iphones
So, you see, not everybody who says Nokias are bad (or not so good) have never owned one. ;)

All nokia haters tell me, where can you find a 150 euro 1 Ghz smartphone without contract. The chipset may be old and the camera mid-range but we don,t know anything else yet so shut up and start commenting when they review it!

It is actually embarrassing to watch Nokia slowly but surely flushing themselves down the toilet. I have suffered with a Nokia N900 for 18 months but changed last week to Samsung Galaxy SII and omg what a world of difference. Never again Nokia. You're indeed a fading giant. While you're slogan remains "connecting people" you seem to have forgotten to "listen" to your customers. Even die hard Nokia fan boys are a diminishing breed!

Nokia 500 specs reminiscent of C series than N series, tat's a minus, but its symbian soul still grabs you, that's a plus?

I think all the Nokia fanboys are enjoying the burning attention this phone is getting. I'm not sure why 1 GHz is needed though. I've tried my friend's X7 and there's no noticeable lag that would hinder productivity since most of the visuals are handled by the GPU so shouldn't this be a bit overkill? Maybe it's to pressure Nokia's competition?
