So sick and tired of ppl knocking Nokia. I've using Nokia/symbian user for years...tried symbian/android and a little iOS...symbian may have its issues but its far better then androids foolisness...eye candy ui and a OS that has just caught up and stepped ahead of nokia but requires major updates to what nokia does out the box. Ppl rave that samsung/lg and moto are ahead of the game...Apples/iOS Nokia/Symbian Blackberry/BB OS PERIOD...Why didn't Samsung make the SGS2 with Bada 2.0???? Samsung/LG and MOTO was knocking on deaths door, til android came in the game..What will they do if Google Decides to MAKE its own phone and samsung lg and moto are left to fend for there own? Duo 1GHZ processor doesn't make a PHONE better then the rest, just means anything less in droid land is obsolete. Sense when did we judge a smartphone by how many apps it has? If symbian/BB OS/webOS and windows phone had the same access to the "apps" how well would androids and ios fair in the game?

like in anything in life, i am in love with something, but more and more disappointed!!! nokia sucks man! i love nokia, to death, i am an owner of a slide 6700 . but it just fails, and fails, and no more apps, no more sw updates, nothing man!
rip nokia, i love you, but the minute you decided to go with windows i'm done... you should have gone with android or just invest more in symbian!!!!
i'm a nokia lover, but it seriuosly sucks! i'm now lost in here, i don't know what my cell phone home is now... samsung? not relaly, lg no thanks, htc so expensive, apple i'm bored of it! i had high hopes in nokia 3 years ago and now this disaster!? :(

compare this device to any of s^3 phones(n8/e7/x7).....u'll notice that Graphic Processor section on the other phones show "2D/3D Graphics HW Accelerator with OpenVG1.1 and OpenGL ES " whereas for nokia 500,it shows "-"....surely "-" isnt a new naming convention for new GPUs

[deleted post]of the 200 top mobile apps in the world, i can assure ovi has less than 20 of them....its restricted to angry birds,asphalt and fruit ninja.....
what about plants vs zombies, cut the rope, infinity blade, dungeon defenders, tweetdeck, an official twitter app, evernote, springpad etc. etc. etc.
surely, a smart phone doesnt look smart if apps are limited

iPhone 3GS a two year old p... morei was reading your posts and they all speak sense...i was a dedicated nokia user with 3 smartphones from 2005 to 2010 until i switched to galaxy S....
nokia massacred a lot with their products...i've had ngage,n81 and 5230 in the past...
ngage service and ngage 2.0 service on n81 were all killed by nokia....both the phones never received any SW update and they died pretty fast..in just 1 year...had i spent more to invest on a iphone, i'd still be having an iOS 4 device now....
nokia 5230 will soon be phased out and forgotten by nokia as soon as 500 launches...its not even a year old phone yet...

Actually the best operating system on the planet is the one that suites YOUR needs,,YOU are the one having to use the smartfone nobody else.So jot down what you use YOUR smartfone/dumbfone for and choose wisely,after all its YOUR hard earned money and YOUR the one using it..

680MHz is enuf for symbian its built as a power efficient O/S and used for N-series style devices..The lag in the N8 is caused by low memory in the GPU and nothing will solve that because its a hardware issue..Pumping symbian devices up to 4GHz will not really improve performance if its GPU related lag or coding.Symbian was not meant for the big touchscreen revolution but they have done as best a job as they can and thats why symbian is going to lower range smartfones and the new fresh w7 will take over..
I do hope Nokia wake up and take on Meego and wished about 6 months ago that Nokia chose Web o/s as its choice instead of w7..Web o/s is slick software crying out for decent hardware,,Nokia has decent hardware crying out for decent software.
Symbian is the only gauranteed O/S in existence that is promised support till 2016..Who knows what will happen in 2016 because we sure as hell did not know in 2006 what was going to happen in 2011..
