Lol to those mentioning apple. Iphone X was released later then 2 android phones with notches (and vertical dual camera): Sharp Aquos S2, essential PH-1.
I think the notch is a good idea, as status bar is now fit into upper bezel, so the phone can be shorter without compromising useful screen space.

2018 and 2019 will be years full of notched phones, maybe 21:9 aspect ratio, and oh! Vertical positioning for the camera. Yay! I really cant wait to see Apple move the camera down below, and double notches, one for the Face ID, one for the come-back Touch ID.
